Colored corners

I have always noticed that all Gamecube games have a colored corner (see picture). I have never really thought about what it meant, but I recently found out that it indicates where a game is from. So far I have only seen 3 colors, blue from The Netherlands, green from the UK and red from France. This made me curious. What other colors are there? Do NTSC games also have this?

Cool finding.

Never noticed it, because all my corners are blue. Thought it was the default case design. :p

That's the region where the game was sold/language in which the box is written.
Dark green is UK with English text
Red is Spain with Spanish text.
(I only have 2 PAL games, but I know that there are quite a few more colors. FR,GER, etc)
The games here in the states don't have the colors and the gamecube logo is on the bottom of the spine, not the top.
I'm guessing one of you metroid boxes is in Spanish, no?

They are not very consistent. Got a purple one today and it is English/French.

Aren't the colors sorted on game genre?
