GCMM!?

I'm too lazy to beat SSBM all myself, so I wanted to put an already completed save file of SSBM on my GameCube.
Now it's a little tricky. I hardwired my 2047 (or so) blocks memory card to Slot A and I hardwired a SDGecko adapter to Slot B.
Since mcBackup isn't working because it requires the Memory Card to be in Slot B and the SDGecko in Slot A, I thought GCMM would do the job.
But... It only gave me a black screen...
Can anyone help me with this or modify mcBackup for me to work?
I would appreciate that very much!
Thanks in advance!

why not just use an action replay cheat to unlock everything?

I removed the Disc Drive and use the WKF mod.

Try this modified version of gcmm. Should work with your setup.
It is modified by me and works for me

, but try at your own risk.

cool I'll have to check that out. I don't suppose the game works in swiss? If so cheats are able to be applied. Also can't the Wiikey mod allow for multiple disc game loading?

According to Ashen's quote, Wiikey Fusion works with multi disc games If arranged correctly:
Ashen wrote:
The Wiikey Fusion has been confirmed to work with multidisc games using a SD card swapping method. If you wish to retain multidisc compatibility wire a on/off switch between these pins (the normal GC lid switch is fine). If you are here for the purposes of portablizing and are going to make the Wii DVD drive top loading and scrap the disc insertion/eject mechanism you may also use this method.
SD swapping seems to work on the Wiikey Fusion for all multidisc games. When asked to switch discs simply swap the SD card to a SD card with the next disc .iso on it and flip/press your lid/open closed switch. There is however one other catch.
When adding games to SD card it seems that the Wiikey uses whatever "slot" the game is loaded to to identify what image to mount if the SD card is removed and reinserted during gameplay. So if on one card you have 5 games and on another card you have 3 games and the multidisc game you are playing ends up in a different slot than it is on the first SD card. The trick will not work. Ex:
SD card 1:
1. game x
2. game c
3. game v(disc1)
SD card 2:
1. game v(disc2)
2. game p
This will not work! The game needs to be in the same "slot" as such:
SD card 1:
1. game x
2. game c
3. game v(disc1)
SD card 2:
1. game q
2. game p
3. game v(disc2)
4. game r
This would work. I'm not 100% sure how WBFS manager arranges things on the card and why. Honestly the best way I can say to play a multidisc game this way is to just go buy two 2gb SD cards and put disc 1 on one of them and disc 2 on another.

Thanks infact!
It does show up the menu now, but when I click 'Backup' it shows an error: 'MemCard Error: CardMount - -5 Internal EXI I/O error'...

Thats interesting, does the memory card work as expected in the bios and games?
Maybe mounting the card works after some attempts. Just try again (b to cancel and then x or y to choose the mode), if you dont already have.
btw. I think you wanted to restore save games from sdcard to memcard? then you need the restore function.

The card works great in the BIOS and games!
I'll try the mounting-reattempts and restore function as soon as I got home from school.

Where do I need to store the save files? (.gci?)

It finds the GCI file now, but when I click 'A' It gives me the same error but now with 'Internal' in case of 'External'.

If you follow the Readme everything should be fine.
What exactly are you trying to get on your memorycard again?

Hugo, the internal EXI I/O Error does afaik show up, when the data received from the memcard is corrupted.
I think your memcard is defective or your soldered connection bad.
Do you have another cube, you can try gcmm with?

My mem works great!
But I'm thinking of making a new cube with the original ports and stuff still on it.
Thanks for the help anyways!
