I have a recently modded my cube and I have problems reading some of my GC backups. I've read and searched that the POT should be adjusted. Whats the preffered Ohms for running DVD-R's?

from factory, originally the indigo and black consoles came with ohms set to 500-550ohms. then nintendo started shipping the platinum (DOL-001 and then DOL-101) Gamecubes at 170-220ohms from factory. I'd recommend 170-220ohms. But clean the lens before adjusting to make sure dirt isn't the cause.

I have Dol-001, because it picks up other backups pretty well, but thankls anyways. Btw whats the recommended media to use DVD-R disc on a modded cube. Currently using Memorex DVD-R's...

The brand does not matter, as long as the media identifier is RITEKG04 or RITEKG05 and it has a dark dye, you should be ok. To check the media identifier, use something like ImgBurn, DVDDecrypter, or DVDInfoPro.
