As far as I can tell, the only force feedback racing wheel that existed for GameCube was the one by Logitech.
I have a fairly modern Logitech-branded racing wheel with USB communication. I suppose it is safe to assume that merely rewiring it to a GameCube connector isn't going to cut it?
Have there been any efforts making an adaptor for this? I would have trouble finding space for two racing wheels, so I'd love if I could use just one for everything.
Reusing existing racing wheels?
Re: Reusing existing racing wheels?
As far as I'm aware, games had to specifically support the Logitech wheel so it's not going to be that easy unless if you wired as a GameCube controller and then just used it like a controller mapped to a wheel. Re: Reusing existing racing wheels?
Thanks for pointing out the thread. Unfortunately it's talking about the opposite of what I'd preferably like to do, as it emulates a Logitech GameCube wheel on an emulator. Looking at what Dolphin does in this case would definitely help with a theoretical adaptor that does the opposite, but I don't have the time or much of the experience to try and do this myself at this time.emu_kidid wrote: ↑Mon Sep 29, 2025 9:57 pm As far as I'm aware, games had to specifically support the Logitech wheel so it's not going to be that easy unless if you wired as a GameCube controller and then just used it like a controller mapped to a wheel. Curiously, I checked out a video earlier where the user said that force feedback is weak and comparable to controller rumble, which sounded like the effect was heavily faked, but I'm seeing actual FFB values mentioned so it definitely seems legit. Presumably it would be better if the values were amplified by a significant amount though, unless the problem was that old Logitech wheel being weak and not the values F-Zero was giving.
Just to be clear, ideally I'd like to play with a modern wheel on a GameCube or a Wii (presumably more doable as it has USB ports), but using Dolphin is fine as a last resort.
I couldn't find any adaptor of this sort, so I guess there isn't such a thing just yet.

You can have a look at raphnet's work, it's open source. It's basically the opposite, but it may be very instructive.
