Datel's SD Media Launcher

Datel's SD Media Launcher is an SDLoad-inspired disc that includes both Action Replay launching and a method of directly launching homebrew without SDLoad.

As of December 2021, the US version of the SD Media Launcher is discontinued and no longer sold by Datel. The European version is still available in limited quantities on Datel's website.

Packaging

The Package always contains:

  • SD Media Launcher disc
  • SD Reader
  • SD Media Launcher Manual (formerly)

Getting started

  • Put an SD Card in the SD Reader and put it in the computer. Depending on the model of your SD reader, this may be a standard SD card or a Micro SD card. The card must be a maximum of 4 GB, otherwise SD Media Launcher cannot use it. Larger SD cards can still be used with the Reader itself in other software, such as Swiss.
  • Copy any homebrew you want to your SD Card.
  • Put the SD card in the Reader, the reader in a memory card slot in the GameCube.
  • Insert the SD Media Launcher disc into the GameCube.
  • Any homebrew on your SD card can be launched from the SD menu.
    • If you press the B button you should get into the Action Replay menu, where you can use the Freeloader or use any preloaded cheats with games.
