So can I just burn a regular swiss .iso to a full sized dvd blank for my wii? Or do I have to do something first to the iso?
I use a homebrew app (forget name) that boots backup GameCube discs.
Thanks

Re: Swiss and progressive scan help
So I popped in the disc I used for my gamecube to boot swiss [mini dvd-r] since I can't find any blank full size dvds at my house. It boots with neoGamma. And I have only tried it once so far but it worked to enable progressive [once again, force 480p = black screen. I held B until it asked to enabl...

Re: Swiss and progressive scan help
Oh, yeah I use Wii swiss booter. Also I boot hbc straight from bootmii screen. So can you use any DVD blanks for wii? I know the GameCube is particular about discs. Also what about dios mios lite? The first time I tried to install it it didn't work but I think it might now that I've installed a cust...

Swiss and progressive scan help
So I got my wii component cable in the mail today. I used swiss to boot Super Mario sunshine, and I held B and selected progressive. It worked great. But I came back later and now when I select progressive, the screen goes weird colors and a fifth of the bottom of the picture is on the top, and it's...

Re: homebrew help... what do I do next?
I finally got the cord. So when I force 480p on Super Mario Sunshine, I get a black screen. but when I leave it on Auto, it runs fine. I /think/ it's in 480p mode.. but how can I be sure? without going back to the old cord, that is. it's a pain to get to the connectors on the back of my TV.

Thanks I'll try that when my cord gets here.AC_Orange wrote:Moved the topic into Wii homebrew

My Wii boots to HBC by default and I use devolution, after the initial nightmare of verifying 100+ discs, it works quite well

Re: homebrew help... what do I do next?
Thank you for confirming.. so I plan on booting directly into hbc to not need a wimote on hand.
Would I set the video mode in hbc to enable progressive? Then force 480p in Swiss? Or will I need to boot into Wii to enable 480p then run hbc then swiss loader?

Re: homebrew help... what do I do next?
thanks. I ended up going with swiss on wii, just because I could not get the DIOS-MOIS method to work. I had to install a cIOS and stuff before I could install a MIOS. Then Swiss Booter. So I boot the homebrew channel, then I boot swiss loader, then it loads swiss, I select my ISO and it boots the g...

Re: homebrew help... what do I do next?
Yes I did a NAND backup and backed it up on my laptop and external disk as well as sd card.wii_HD wrote:I can not help you as I use Devolution for GC iso.
Did you make a NAND back-up. Be careful with what you do as boot2 cannot recover from most brick situations.
Can someone point me in the right direction?

homebrew help... what do I do next?
I finally installed bootmii [to boot2] and the homebrew channel. What I want to do next is be able to play GameCube ISOs from my 8GB SDHC card. I downloaded DIOS-MIOS but I have no idea what to do with the .wad file. when I press home in homebrew channel, it says: 1.0.8 IOS38 v14.25 in the top right...

Re: can I use wii without wiimote using gc controller?
Edit: Just wanted to say, I stumbled upon an easy solution: install bootmii, and install the files to SD card. Whenever you boot with it in, it will boot bootmii first, and you can use a GC controller to boot homebrew channel, then into Swiss loader, and therefore not need a Wiimote! But I'd recomme...

the best solution is bootmii priiloader is for those who are unable to install bootmii also might want to consider not to ever upgrade your menu and turn wiiconnect off should I just disconnect my wifi? or is there a setting to just disable updates? I clicked WiiConnect24, and it said I have to agr...

Re: can I use wii without wiimote using gc controller?
I think he just wants it to be a gamecube that has the option for a cheap and available component cable Exactly! But I have decided to only sell 1 on ebay, and I'll keep the other one JIC. :P purchased one on ebay for $3 today. And also USA shipping, so I hope to get it this week. ^_^ I can't wait ...

can I use wii without wiimote using gc controller?
I just picked up a Wii at a flea market, with 2 wiimotes, av cable, power cable, and a bar. The only reason I got it was for the progressive scan ability, since I already have a modded gamecube. So my initial thought, I would sell both wiimotes on ebay. So I turned it on and I realized the gamecube ...

Got it working. But each time I boot I have to manually select it from slot B. There's no way to do it any easier is there?

Re: "No Disc" - pot or xenogc at fault?
Good news, as a lost resort I tried burning from a laptop instead of my desktop.
What do you know? It boots at 65ohms!
My bro is putting it back together now. The one thing tho, it said there was no sd gecko present.
Does it need to be in slot A?

Re: "No Disc" - pot or xenogc at fault?
First, it was already at 180 ohms. so I put the pot down to [roughly] 70, it didn't work. then I tried 55, and then about 30. all of them didn't work. I tried to clean the lens with a qtip and water, because I couldn't find any rubbing alcohol, and I dried it of course with the other end. it reads m...

ImgBurn shows the options for burning at 2x but when i started to burn the disc it changed the speed to 4x. I did read the log. It said successfully set speed to 2x. I said log. But actually is this info. http://i.imgur.com/yZ1f4wz.jpg [/quote] ok: https://doc-0o-24-docs.googleusercontent.com/docs/...

Oh like with a Q-tip (and rubbing alcohol? I'll try that before I take it apart.emu_kidid wrote:CMC MAG AF1 are the cheaper Ritek which will need a better laser to read them. You can put the pot down to 50 ohms and work up from there, but it sounds like you need a new laser, or clean the laser at least.

@siphoned, I appreciate it.. I'm pretty positive the ones I have are CMC MAG AF1. Anyway, I am going to tweak the pot. But not right now, because I have to get up early tomorrow. So maybe tomorrow I'll be able to do it, and hopefully then my discs will boot.

If it changes from red to orange, means the chip is doing it's job. I would try a backup of a normal game if you suspect media is the problem. What did you use to create the bootable swiss disc? I have had problems in the past but had success following infact's guide: http://www.gc-forever.com/foru...

Re: "No Disc" - pot or xenogc at fault?
Wasn't there an issue with the ntsc iso downloaded from google.code? Is that the one your using? Yes in fact I did indeed use the NTSC from the 7z archive on google code. :-S So what should I do? burn the PAL version and try it? If there was an issue with the image layout it wouldn't have said &quo...
