To clarify in the UK topic there's I think a code to get his casual clothes on the first playthrough.
But I notice the US game lacks this code.

640x528 Gamecube's Internal Resolution?
I recall reading on Dolphin Emulator's forum a bit ago that the internal resolution of Gamecube is 640x528 but the conversation ended up confusing me as I thought it ran things native in whatever region, NTSC 480p etc.
Is the resolution really 640x528 and not 640x480? thanks.

Re: NTSC Cube Forcing PAL (576i) via Swiss Question
Are you using a component cable? Composite or s-video will tell you immediately whether 50hz is working. NTSC systems don't encode PAL color, and will turn black and white at 50hz. (I've tested this on the XRGB framemeister) Yeah, I'm using component cables. I found out that PAL display is 50hz so ...

NTSC Cube Forcing PAL (576i) via Swiss Question
I'm using an NTSC Gamecube and with it I'm forcing PAL (576i) for a NTSC retail Super Smash Bros. Melee disc via Swiss and it leads me to this question:
Is the Gamecube running in 60hz at this point since its a NTSC game and a NTSC system? or is it running in 50hz?

Will putting in a disc reader from a NTSC system work in a PAL system? or are they different?

Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
It even forces 480p via composite if component is plugged in. They're not independent outputs. Sorry, I probably should have explained that better. :D What I mean is, you can't actually modify Swiss's main menu resolution via Component cables. The reason on a Gamecube that it ends up outputting vid...

Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
This is the logic used by older homebrew: Ah, I see. From what I've used, RetroArch, FCEU, and a homebrew game and some others utilize Swiss's resolution and I utilized the latest versions. I will note that I edited my post above with the actual bug at hand that occurs. It even forces 480p via comp...

Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
Since the resolution cannot be changed of Swiss Menu over Component cables, you cannot run .dol files in 240p. .dol files will be forced to 480p unless the .dol has resolution options within it. That's not up to Swiss, each homebrew has its own video routines. I tested this with a few homebrew game...

Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
When using a Component Cable, no matter how much you edit the settings the resolution is forced 480p. I've edited the setting to 240p, NTSC (480i), and all types of other resolutions but it won't do anything but 480p. I've also utilized the latest nightly build on October 8th just now. Apologize fo...

Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
Midori do you mean force the Swiss menu to start up in say 576p? that would be very nice. Pretty much! Can you elaborate a bit more? Oh interesting. So it's essentially downscaling I assume?Extrems wrote:The game renders at its native resolution (typically 640x448 + horizontal scaling) and 2-line averaging in gamma light is applied (free anti-aliasing).

Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
If possible, I'd like to be able to force the resolution of Swiss via component cables. There are options to, but they stay stuck at 480p no matter what via component cables.

Re: Modchips and Pot Tweaking
Really appreciate the informative post! I actually use to have a multimeter, but I haven't seen it since I moved so I did this recent pot tweak manually which ended up working somehow, but I feel I should probably tweak it better and go out and pay for a multimeter. I'm going learn how to solder ver...

Modchips and Pot Tweaking
Is tweaking the pot necessary for mod chips? Mine is already tweaked, although a few years later I had to tweak it again because it must have moved around I suppose so I'll probably invest in a modchip pretty soon. Appreciate the assistance!

Does Burn Speed Matter?
I've heard all kinds of things from burn at 1x speed for safety, or burn at 16x it doesn't matter, or the max you can burn at is 4x for Gamecube games on a Gamecube.
Is there a limit on the burn speed you should be using for Gamecube games for a Gamecube? Thanks.

Wasn't sure where to post this, but wanted to thank all the developers who made Swiss what it is. I have a old-school Action Replay and I have a SD to Gamecube memory adapter. I tried using sdpatch.exe but it only works with Window...
