Re: Game Boy Interface

GBI uses NTSC timings by default for the ULL and LL versions, so perhaps your DVD recorder doesn't like getting NTSC timing over a PAL composite cable? The maximum compatibility for a PAL recorder is going to be the full (not ULL or LL) version, with the following settings: --format=pal --scan-mode=...

Re: gbiloader (automatic Game Boy Interface loader with .cli config file support)

Why not make a pull request to Swiss instead of writing an entirely new program then? The largest reason is that I'm not comfortable working in C (as a software developer, it's a language I haven't worked with in 15 years), so having a separate application allows for more amateur code to be used th...

Re: Game Boy Interface

I've released a tool (gbiloader) that can automatically start different versions GBI while simultaneously supporting *.cli config files. This lets you have GBI start automatically when you turn your GameCube on, and still have custom settings like controller schemes or pixel aspect ratios. I've put ...

gbiloader (automatic Game Boy Interface loader with .cli config file support)

gbiloader is a GameCube bootloader targeting Game Boy Interface. It allows you to automatically start GBI with a custom configuration (via *.cli files) when you turn your GameCube on, and to use an optional menu (hold down "Y" when gbiloader is starting) to change which version of GBI shou...

Re: Game Boy Interface

I hate to be that guy, but I'd really like to use GBI, especially with the new control options. I mentioned before that forcing 240p on Gameboy Player looks fine, and so does GBI LL, but booting the regular GBI gives me a noticeable blur effect when there's motion on-screen. This is all on a CRT - ...

Re: Game Boy Interface

The problem you describe is not related to the refresh rate of the display, but because the GameCube and GBA hardware are not running perfectly in sync, and will slowly drift into and out of sync. What you're seeing is the effect of the cube starting to send a frame to the TV when the GBA is already...

Re: Game Boy Interface

Here's a proposal for compatibility with a SNES controller that's directly mapped letter-by-letter (with Z to select) to let you use it like you would on a SNES (IE, hold "Y" to run in Mario, press "B" to jump) Y -> B B -> A Z -> Select Start -> Start L / R -> L / R RaphNet's con...

Re: Game Boy Interface

Just thought I'd throw in a warning for those burning the ISOs of GBI: some burners appear to have a minimum ISO size requirement to burn successfully. This evening I installed a Xeno-GC in my gamecube and adjusted the drive pot, and then burned an ISO of the gameboy player disc (using TDK 4x mini D...
