What do you mean by a good signal? have you tried second hand component cables on ebay? have you got an av cable?

Dust is your main enemy here. Plastic cases are really a worthwhile investment if you're serious about collecting. Also, it's generally a good idea to store your games in a dark, well-ventilated place, but i guess you probably knew that. Also i knew someone who swore by keeping the discs upright and...
