Re: shinehax - A Super Mario Sunshine (PAL) Save Exploit

It will set it back according to what SWISS is set to force for its own display (set it to 576p then). No, because of the way the hack works, it hooks somewhere in the languages files loading (or hangs, if in 60Hz), which happen before the framerate choice menu. There is no other way than pulling th...

Re: Question about Gamecube discs

What you see only indicates they have been recognized as GC's DVDs (maybe only based on the disc's size?), but doesn't prove they can work. Maybe you can run CleanRip on your wii, rip the discs and compare with the redump database? Otherwise, you have to check for: No scratches on the reading surfac...

Re: SD Media Launcher

SDML and AR discs are known to be not that reliable upon long term use, and need to boot on standard fat16 formatted SD cards, so you usually have to swap cards every time you use it. Best advice is to use SDML and old SD card to set up a save exploit, then keep it aside, and use the save exploit to...

Re: Inject N64 roms into the zelda collector disc?

No, it only is good because the games it supports allow the hacks it needs to run acceptably well on the cube. Optimizing for individual games may improve performance, but it would need to get back to the original roms' sourcecode, what would be closer to porting each game than really emulating the ...

Re: shinehax - A Super Mario Sunshine (PAL) Save Exploit

Don't know much about those flags in the Cube's architecture, but it is common in computers that setting one flag needs the whole byte where they are stored in memory to be updated (and which they usually share with 7 other flags). Before you change one bit, you have to read the byte, combine it wit...

Re: shinehax - A Super Mario Sunshine (PAL) Save Exploit

Forcing SWISS to either 60Hz mode sets the refresh rate flag to that value anytime. You'll have to let the video settings be determined by the games, NTSC go in 60Hz anyways, and ignore and don't update the said flag. I personnally set to 576p as a default, so that progressive scan is activated anyw...

Re: Warp Pipe

You have to remember that warp pipe was initially only designed to tunnel over the internet from one GC to one on a distant private network, provided the games already have the local network play ability, the BBA compatibility, which one SSBM doesn't have, to begin with. So playing SSBM online with ...

Re: Inject N64 roms into the zelda collector disc?

No, read carefully what emu_kidid wrote. Plus, except if you only use it for one specific game, managing the saves may be unnecessarily complicated. What Diego wrote is that it may be funnier to inject specific or hacked roms back into the GC ISO to get specific features (such as spanish text (EUR r...

Re: High pitched audio in Swiss interface only

You may replace your boot.gci by a small version of GBI, provided you have enough space on your Memcard, then, you can load SWISS by pressing start for more than three seconds from the osd menu (works even without a GBPlayer). :|

Tell us back if it worked for you. :P

Re: USB to SP2 Adapter?

Yes, SP2 to SP2, a GC only running controller poll and sending to another with interrupt may not be slower than average µC. It may be much hassle, but once an homebrew is booted via save exploit, you can use both the game and memcard to boot the second unit, while I must agree with you, not everyone...

(btw if anyone knows if there's a specific value in these codes governing the borders... Re: USB to SP2 Adapter?

Don't know much about the current load ability on the SP2, I may be wrong, but I fear that draining the current needed for four controllers and rumble may not be safe, perhaps the µC and controllers without rumble can be just nice. That's another question you won't have to find the answer using a se...

HDMI adapter is not the universal solution for best video quality, it depends on your display: CRT TV: RGB (Pal consoles (Wii or GC) or Nintendo RGB Digital AV cable or GCVideo RGB adapter). CRT PVM/BVM/early Plasma: RGB (Nintendo RGB Digital AV cable or GCVideo RGB adapter) or Component (Wii or GC ...

Re: Optimised 50hz-only PAL games?

No need for the GCVideo to be that powerful as long as the GC itself is. If you don't double the pixels in the lines, 960i (1152i) doesn't need more power than 480p (576p). The biggest problem is to get the GC to add dumb lines (960 to 1080) or crop (1152 to 1080) as the GCVideo may not manage to bu...

Re: USB to SP2 Adapter?

An interrupt pin allows for an external appliance (or internal peripheral in other cases) to warn the main system (CPU) that it has data to deliver, it's a kind of "handshaking", then, the main system can be aware right on time to listen to it, it can be very responsive and time effective. Without i...

Re: Optimised 50hz-only PAL games?

There has been many questions about the internal resolution, the "upscale" (black borders) seems to be essentially masked by the sets overscan, others may explain further. But as a PAL player, I have an important advice to you: Only use 50Hz on CRT or signal-synchronized display, for modern LCD disp...

Re: I have a question

If you don't have the GBPlayer nor the use for this, you can go on with the Wii, it would still be cheaper to get 480p off it via component cable. SWISS works well in GC mode, and you can also get a forwarder to it from the Wii Menu if it is homebrew enabled. The only plus of a GC will be the GBPlay...

Re: Gc loader finally here... Advise on what to play

GBI ISO is included on the GBI release package, I think, but there's no use for that if you can just run the DOLs. Dig YT for a good selection of what to play, what underrated games to re-habilit… The GC has had quite a lot of games, what you want to play depends on what kind of games you prefer, pl...

They're connected to the same EXI bus, so the same in terms of speed, enough for controller inputs. thay also both have interrupt ability. (edited) For four more players on a GC, the simpler way would be a GC with homebrew to bridge-forward its controller data to the main GC via EXI cross-cable. As ...

Re: Yet another USB Gecko clone

The USB Gecko is essentially used as a mass storage interface. You already have four controller connectors, that can be used by up to eight players, when games or programs allow that, and if it's not enough, EXI bus can easily be used to link consoles together, without requiring any useless bridge f...

Re: PS3 MAPI Dynarec Lib

The candid question would be: In what respect do we, GC and Wii users, care about PS3 programming hacks, unless it will allow GC/Wii emulation on the said SONY console? I have read the external link, and as a user, have heard about dynarec regarding N64 emulation, so I have some questions: Can we ex...
