Re: shinehax - A Super Mario Sunshine (PAL) Save Exploit

Still finding some nuances with this... mario kart set to 60hz, IGR to swiss in 576p, reboot and I end up at the freeze again. Other games the IGR seems to work (but perhaps the 60hz flag isn't being set) Either way, this works great. Also wanted to note that I found a fix for the high pitched sound...

Re: High pitched audio in Swiss interface only

Okay - I've found a working solution to fix this seamlessly! Instructions... Get dolaunch from here: https://github.com/suloku/dolaunch/releases/tag/0.2-dolxz Stick boot.gci of the standard version onto your memory card to get the DOL to be used with Shinehax Put Swiss on your SD card (if using SD2S...

Re: High pitched audio in Swiss interface only

The issue is in shinehax, not Swiss. Presumably the interaction between the two? I appreciate the issue isn't necessarily in Swiss code but given there are only really 6 or so decent ways to boot Swiss on a cube (of which most come into the $100s of dollars) and Shinehax is one of them (which costs...

Re: High pitched audio in Swiss interface only

Okay, so done a little testing. So long as Swiss is 'reloaded' somehow, the noise disappears. This works with GBI and/or with a second Swiss DOL/iso. Sadly none of these are particularly seamless as I don't see a way to get swiss to do a seamless load of a file on boot (unless I'm missing something?...

Re: shinehax - A Super Mario Sunshine (PAL) Save Exploit

It will set it back according to what SWISS is set to force for its own display (set it to 576p then). No, because of the way the hack works, it hooks somewhere in the languages files loading (or hangs, if in 60Hz), which happen before the framerate choice menu. There is no other way than pulling t...

Re: shinehax - A Super Mario Sunshine (PAL) Save Exploit

Don't know much about those flags in the Cube's architecture, but it is common in computers that setting one flag needs the whole byte where they are stored in memory to be updated (and which they usually share with 7 other flags). Before you change one bit, you have to read the byte, combine it wi...

Re: shinehax - A Super Mario Sunshine (PAL) Save Exploit

Forcing SWISS to either 60Hz mode sets the refresh rate flag to that value anytime. You'll have to let the video settings be determined by the games, NTSC go in 60Hz anyways, and ignore and don't update the said flag. I personnally set to 576p as a default, so that progressive scan is activated any...

Re: High pitched audio in Swiss interface only

You may replace your boot.gci by a small version of GBI, provided you have enough space on your Memcard, then, you can load SWISS by pressing start for more than three seconds from the osd menu (works even without a GBPlayer). :| Tell us back if it worked for you. :P Ah, interesting - will give tha...

It's an issue with shinehax specifically.
Ah, that would make sense as using shinehax. Seems odd it would only happen through that!
Is there likely to be a fix or workaround or should I start looking for some other way to boot?

Which version of Swiss are you using? It can be found on the upper right corner of the screen
How are you loading Swiss? Is it via GCLoader, save game exploit, etc?
Possible to show a video of this?
Version 5, latest. Only got it the other day

High pitched audio in Swiss interface only

I'm using GC Video and everything works fine except for when I'm in Swiss I get a terrible high pitched solid audio tone through my speakers Pre Swiss (boot) and post swiss (booting a game) all fine, but Swiss has this every time... It's excruciating!! Anyone else got this? Anyone know what might ca...

Re: shinehax - A Super Mario Sunshine (PAL) Save Exploit

Firstly, thank you so much for the hack. Been using it for a few days and mostly seems to be working great! I'm having an odd issue however after playing Mario Sunshine via Swiss To prevent clashing I actually got an NTSC version of MS and ripped it and am playing that via SD2SP2 using Swiss There a...
