Re: LCD Jewel by Laser Bear Industries
M.2 Loader is still stuck on the production issues. I was so busy with life I couldn't really find time to fix it properly. There was also ETH2GC launch in the meantime etc. I hope to get it done soon. For the LCD Jewel it would be best to follow Laser Bear Industries but AFAIK in the last update th...

Re: RAM Disk device since Swiss v0.6r1534
Hi webhdx, Could you describe more details about your GameCube ARAM expansion mod? Is there a project page (maybe in future on GitHub?) and/or a list of used components and wiring diagrams? I haven't published anything yet because it didn't work reliably. For some reason the module is only detected...

Re: Weird GameCube Power Issue
If you have a modchip installed, especially PicoBoot, check wire length. Similar symptoms occur when wires are too long and IPL patching fails. Unmodified consoles can still refuse to boot when electrolytic capacitors inside have gone bad. WIth 20+ years of service, GameCubes are now very prone to p...

Re: 2nd Pico in gamecube
I'd say it's a big waste to use another Pico. You can just move your code to PicoBoot and run it from the same board. PicoBoot only activates during boot and then idles, there are plenty of resources for other activities.
Re: Viper GC
1. I think the only option now is to use external programmer. I've tried to conver VGC bios to DOL but my attempts were unsuccessful.
2. It's not supported in r5.2, the only option is to remove adapter or SD card.
3. I think there was an option to do it but can't confirm at the moment.

Re: Viper GC
ViperGC can be flashed with iplboot r5.2 but it doesn't support SD2SP2. There is r8 prerelease that supposedly is compatible with ViperGC and has SD2SP2 support but I haven't tested this revision. I'd personally keep ViperGC as a collector item or sell it (it has suprisingly high value) and just mov...

Download new Swiss release, grab swiss_rXXXX.dol file, rename to ipl.dol and replace the file on SD card.

Yes, you just need SD card adapter like SD Gecko or SD2SP2 and FAT32 formatted memory card. Here is the documentation: https://github.com/webhdx/PicoBoot/wiki ... tion-guide

There are no replacements available. You can still flash it through the console I guess.

Re: Need help modding
PicoBoot is much more convenient than XenoGC. It'll autoboot Swiss from SD card. No need for a boot disk. It's also very cheap.

Re: PicoBoot - IPL replacement modchip using Raspberry Pi Pico
PicoBoot v0.2 release Just a heads up I've just released new PicoBoot v0.2 firmware. It comes with updated iplboot which introduces overall reliability improvements and new features. The most important one is that you can hold D-Pad Down during boot to see output from iplboot. It's very useful to v...

Re: I tried installing the PicoBoot now GC doesn't work
Yeah you did a huge mess on that board. There are multiple shorts on Serial Port pins and you ripped a pad on U10. I'd recommend giving the console to someone who knows how to fix it. I'm afraid you'll do even more damage and make it unfixable.

Re: I tried installing the PicoBoot now GC doesn't work
If the LED goes off it means there is a short somewhere. No offence but your soldering looks really bad, the exposed parts of the wires are way too long and there are loose strands that can touch nearby points.

Re: Some help needed trying to get a working Shuriken Attack
I was recalling from our posts here earlier on: You can flash Swiss directly to my modchip if you use different board. With Pico we are currently limited to ~512kB payloads. This is due to an issue that I couldn't resolve but quite possible it'd be fixed in the future then PicoBoot will be provided...

Re: Some help needed trying to get a working Shuriken Attack
It's probably possible but I haven't tested it because I only have Pico boards with 2MB flash. You need a different board to try it. Anyway, I simply don't see a point to program PicoBoot with Swiss. Especially because you will need an SD card anyway if you want to persist patches and settings.

Re: Some help needed trying to get a working Shuriken Attack
I'm not sure why would you want to run Swiss from PicoBoot directly? You still need SD adapter to preserve patches and settings. It's easier to update Swiss file on an SD card instead of having to flash PicoBoot via USB.

Re: Some help needed trying to get a working Shuriken Attack
I don't know, as I said I haven't tried it myself. If you feel like experimenting on your own then go for it. I need to fix the code and let Swiss be installed on the standard Pico board. Using 16MB board is hardly a solution to the issue with the code

Re: PicoBoot - IPL replacement modchip using Raspberry Pi Pico
Ouch, it you broke the leg on U10 it's a game over for that motherboard. You can try to scrape off the package and solder to the leftovers of that leg but I don't think it's going to work. At least I killed 2 GCs that way and wasn't able to fix them.

Yes but you don't have to do it. Hold X, Y or B during boot to launch regular GC menu.
