mGBA's HLE of SGB enhancements is no problem.
Cool. I take it it's theoretically possible to use the SGB boot rom for the SGB menus, and play 16-bit SGB mode Space Invaders?

Of course it's possible to emulate an SNES, but there's no way to intercept those signals without a GB emulator for GBA. And then you may as well just use mGBA.
Can the Gamecube emulate a GB and a SNES at the same time, smooth enough to be enjoyable?

Too bad...
Super Gameboy attaches to a SNES.
GB emulators can do some things, but for every feature you need to simultaneously emulate the SNES.

Isn't there a handful of games best played on DVD?
I thought SD cards, IDE adapters, or anything else, each have their share of finicky titles.

Anyhow, faster load times will be wonderful.

Re: Black and white video

No you can't do that, it's not worth it at all when you can just get a PAL unit or use GCvideo. The easiest you can do is get a PAL-N TV. Why you would want to run games in 50 Hz in the first place is beyond me. Well you made it sound like a PAL-N to PAL decoder exists. But that's way off topic. Ju...

GC chassis for Wii DVD drives

Any mockups what this might look like? If bold enough to "internally" install a Wii drive in a GC... it'd look strange to say the least.

Re: Black and white video

Sounds like your region switch is wired either wrong or shorting. The switch is unnecessary with a XENO anyways as it makes the GC region free. I recommend removing the region switch and retesting. One caveat is Xeno doesn't switch system language. Swiss settings can help the fussy games, or of cou...

Is the link cable correct for the game you're playing?
Game Boy or Game Boy Color games, are designed to use different cables than Game Boy Advance games.

If you have a modchip, the game should play automatically when booting the system without the need for homebrew.

Thanks for the answer, i'll report It immediatly. However i use a japanese Memory card (on a jap gamecube with Ntsc-U region mod), now i try with another Memory card and hope It function normally. Normally the memory card region is decided by the console, not the game. You should swap memory card e...

I guess it's possible games could freeze when they find something in a memory card slot that is not a memory card.
Can't say I've heard of it happening though.

"IPL/Game Language: English"? I guess that's an option to try changing.
Right now the game should believe the console is not Japanese.

Nice, didn't knew they updated their site again. Last time I checked they were out of stock. So freeloader would be the way for japanese Cubes if I'm lucky to get the correct version? The standalone freeloader wasn't specially localized for japan, but I've heard older versions were region free. By ...

The thing is Gamecube has no exploit that can be run from, or installed to, the system settings menu.
Either way you'd still need a memory card to set it up.

Burn Swiss to a disc. It can run programs on SD cards, sparing the effort to make a disc for each emulator. Are you using the component cable on an HDTV? Some TVs don't support 240p from component. Mega Man X Collection and a few other things may be unplayable at worst. I've never heard about Metal ...

SD Media Launcher is an option.
Action Replay is slightly more complicated, on older versions you'll have to enter codes to set up its exploit.

If you have a way to make a PC write to a Gamecube memory card.
SDGecko won't work to perform the actual exploit. Normally only games programmed for SD cards can use them. (like Doubutsu no Mori e+)

The original Crash Bandicoot doesn't support analog control. You'll have to use the dpad, or fake it by remapping a stick as buttons.
