So... There's This Bounty..

Post by Ploggy » Fri May 19, 2017 4:49 am

A bounty has been setup to (hopefully) create a Dynarec for the PS1 core of Retroarch for the WiiU. I'm making this thread to see if there is any interest in anyone here with the skills to help. The bounty has risen quite abit since it was started and has so far reached $185.

We're hoping if we spread the news around we might find someone willing to take on the task :) (fingers crossed) lol

Thanks.
Here's a Video showing how the PS1 Core runs atm:

EDIT: it's upto $200 now :)

It would be less work to bring pcsx and the PowerPC dynarec into libretro than to write a new Dynarec for Mednafen from scratch.

If that's the case the people who donated would probably be happy with that to happen instead :p
At the end of the day all we want is fullspeed PS1 emulation on the WiiU. :)

But if a Dynarec was written with the WiiU PPC in mind wouldn't that be interchangeable to the other Cores? N64/DC??

Even if it were generic enough to allow this, those are vastly different machines to translate from.

PS1: MIPS R3000 derivative (32-bit, little-endian, no MMU, GTE)
N64: MIPS R4300 (64-bit, big-endian, MMU, FPU)
DC: SuperH SH-4 (32-bit, little-endian, MMU, FPU)
