Interest check: Second batch of IDE-EXI adapters?
Hey all,
since a lot of people are asking for a second batch of the adapters:
WOULD YOU BE INTERESTED IN BUYING ONE?
For all of you who already got one: Please don't vote if you don't plan on buying a second one, thanks

Re: Interest check: Second batch of IDE-EXI adapters?
I'm not here to vote on much I simply wanted to say that while wode ect are nice solutions they require quite a bit of soldering and frankly a large number of people aren't able to do so as long as compatability in swiss continues to improve as I know it will I see no reason why people wouldn't want an easy ready made plug and play backup loading device.
Re: Interest check: Second batch of IDE-EXI adapters?
Wode/WKF adapter would be much cooler But the connectors....

Re: Interest check: Second batch of IDE-EXI adapters?
ok I can very much agree there. Not to mention the uses the offers for homebrew purposes. don't know about you guys but I hate network shares.... and discs just cant hold everything you want...
Re: Interest check: Second batch of IDE-EXI adapters?
+1, connecting a wode/wkf to a gamecube without soldering would be awesomeandzlay wrote:Wode/WKF adapter would be much cooler But the connectors....
Re: Interest check: Second batch of IDE-EXI adapters?
well...let's look at it like this: what was discovered? wiikey fusion working on gc. wode working on gc....do you really think that there won't be a solution to the connector problem soon?

Re: Interest check: Second batch of IDE-EXI adapters?
I dunno. At first I thought it wont be any problems there. But then nothing happnened in weeks and all the mentioned connectors in the Drive replacement thread seemd to be not suitable...
Re: Interest check: Second batch of IDE-EXI adapters?
Emu sad some day in irc there would be a newer version, like a ide-exi 2.0
If so i would take one of patch 2

Re: Interest check: Second batch of IDE-EXI adapters?
My advice is:
A modified chip (WODE/Wiikey): for an easy installation in gamecube, perhaps without the need for solder, if possible.
Sorry for my english.

Re: Interest check: Second batch of IDE-EXI adapters?
Man, I´ve been begging for a second patch since the first one was sold out before I got the money. Since there is actuallya lot more members than the time of the first batch, you are going to get a good $$$$ .
Re: Interest check: Second batch of IDE-EXI adapters?
I'd like one if you send it to Brazil. Do you?
Re: Interest check: Second batch of IDE-EXI adapters?
we would ship worldwide, of course

Re: Interest check: Second batch of IDE-EXI adapters?
I was thinking about buying more parts, making myself a second homemade alternative and maybe selling a few homemade ones, but if these quality PCB's are going to be produced again then I wouldn't need to..
I would buy one.

Re: Interest check: Second batch of IDE-EXI adapters?
i think there would be alot of interest in the IDE-EXI if it had DMA. i'm sure everyone here would choose the IDE-EXI adapter over the wiikey fusion or wode simply because it's a softmod and so much easier. and some people like me only have one gamecube and would rather not hardmod it.
btw is it possible to flash the existing IDE-EXI's to add support for DMA?

Re: Interest check: Second batch of IDE-EXI adapters?
From looking at the pictures of the IDE-EXI I can see it has holes where you could connect a cable to re-flash the chip.Slab of concrete wrote:i think there would be alot of interest in the IDE-EXI if it had DMA. i'm sure everyone here would choose the IDE-EXI adapter over the wiikey fusion or wode simply because it's a softmod and so much easier. and some people like me only have one gamecube and would rather not hardmod it.

But I'm unsure how DMA works.

Re: Interest check: Second batch of IDE-EXI adapters?
I would definitely buy one. 2 questions:
Will it possibly support DMA and/or audio streaming (either out of the box or via an upgrade later)?
Would you accept payment via Bitcoin? I really don't like PayPal; PayPal has fees while Bitcoin doesn't, and you can exchange Bitcoin for whatever currency you want.
Neither of these questions are dealbreakers, I just figured I'd ask.
