Panasonic Q Problems

Post by RetroRepair » Sun Apr 25, 2010 7:49 pm

I have a Q which is refusing to open it's tray. In fact, the only buttons on the front which work are the power (connected separately from the other buttons) and game reset button which goes directly to the cube pcb. All the other buttons do nothing.

I have opened it up and putting a game in there runs it fine it all plays great, just can't open the tray. Also if I go into DVD mode I can't get back to game mode since it's a button on the front and oddly enough, the only way to get back to game mode is to pull out the cable inside to the front panel buttons..

There is a slot inside for a small ribbon cable, I think on the middle pcb at the back but no cable in there, nor anywhere for it to go I don't think, might be missing though?

If anyone has heared of this or has any insight into what my problem might be it'd be much appreciated.

It would seem your cable is missing, if it weren't you'd at least be able to switch modes.. If you can take a picture of the connector where you think the cable should go that'd be good so we can perhaps identify a spare.
