Cobra Menu freezes

Hi all

I've just removed my old GC from its storage box for the first time in what must be a decade.
i've had to buy a new powerpack and leads as my tv did not support scart or Av leads
Bought a few old titles to entertain my 6yr old...

I'd totally forgotten i had it modded with a viper chip but now when i turn the GC on i get the Cobra menu and can select sub menu's however the menu freezes when i go to load a disk or run the original bios

Has anyone encountered this issue before? anyone know how to fix it?

Can you post a video? It sounds like the DVD drive has potentially gone bad, or the lid switch override wires have broken off?

You're probably better off using picoboot+SD2SP2 and selling the ViperGC (especially if it's an Extreme).
