replace the disc when you've loaded swiss.dol - not sure if that makes any difference.

Also, disc ripping is temporarily removed until I fix some bugs which were corrupting hdd's.

Dear emu kidid,

so I tested version 0.2 to 0.24 ! Here my Results...

Tested with Wii (Pal) FW 4.0 E launching swiss with GCBooter 1.3 over HB Channel.

Orginal GC Game in Wii ! before launching, GCBooter and Swiss.

SD Cards tested: Panasonic 2 GB
Kingston 2 GB
Kingston 2 GB (Micro)

I can Boot the Orginal GC Game via Diskchannel !
Over Swiss all Versions say Disk/Error (Disk Version)!
Try to launch via SD Mario Party 4 (*.gcm File) all Versions from Swiss give "Error"
Prepatched Iso Swiss say Game Patches then "Error"

I Know I have the new Drive that no reading selfbackups or burned Disks !
I dont understand then why Swiss is not reading the Orginal Disc in Drive ?
Gives Error Disk/Changed or....

In SD-Boot 0.4 its working fine !
It must be an Issue with the Wii Drive ? (My Wii is 1 year old, and Drive is fine) I`dont know...
I hope you became the Issues solved...
Many more i have read in German Boards have the same issue.

Thanks for all !!! (sorry my bad English)

That's what the Wii Swiss Booter is for. I was expecting some error, but i didn't acually try to launch retail discs with another GC homebrew booter. The change that it tells the arm to finish its stuff allows GC homebrew to reset the drive -> more or less required to play games from disc.

hello,
is there a sdload slot B version for the viper GC (LPT) available?
i loaded the normal version as a plugin in the bios and this works great, but for playing a game i have to swap always my gecko sd adapter.

A little bit offtopic here, but you can create your own plugin, if you have sdload-slotb.dol

Is Pokemon Box really working now? Either i did oversee something or right now the Arena High value in memory is one set by the apploader is not overwritten by Swiss, also bi2 and fst are not touched. The result of this should be that the plugin is inside the memory that the game think is available, and fst and bi2 are inside the memory that's "reserved" for the plugin.

You need to use the Wii Swiss Booter if you want retail GC discs with Swiss on your Wii. Another alternative would be to create some custom Wii or GC disc you boot from disc channel which in the end gets you to Swiss somehow. I doubt that's a solution anybody wants...

Tested: Wii Swiss Booter...

Start Wii, Orginal Gamecube Disk in Drive, Discchannel shows Gamecube Game, start HBC, starting
Wii Swiss Booter, Error: Could not read disk ID

I have the new Wii 4.0E

Booting Swiss via GCBooter works ! But swiss recognize the Orginal Disk in Drive.

And what i understand is you need an Orginal Disc in Drive to start any Game via SD.

@emu_kidid: Regarding Pokemon Box again:
Maybe you could consider the prepatcher to not patch the main.dol? And also add the Hi Plugin as test option for other games? I don't see any reason why the prepatcher should patch the main.dol, if you can always do it with the latest patches when booting the games. And if you add a test option for the Hi Plugin, it would be mandatory, because otherwise it would create a total mess. Ok, i guess undo files for the prepatcher should be done before that...

Hmm, ok, sorry, i thought you used the old GC homebrew booter. Is your Wii one of the backup resistant ones(not white, or bought after christmas '09)? I guess you have only 1 GC game? Which one is it? Did you try to insert the disc after Swiss promted you to insert one? (ok, it just works for me, but testing it doesn't harm)

Yes my wii is backup resistant. It`s a white Wii.
I have ordered at Ebay more Games. That what I have now is "Need for Speed Underground" Players Choice Edition. Curios is in SD-Boot 0.4 I can use any Disk to Launch Games.

Sd-Boot 0.4 is working much better for me. Is Swiss supposed to be an improvement over sd-boot? Tried everything I can think of to get Mario Tennis working om my wii. Doesn't work. I did get it to work with sd-boot. Is Mario Tennis compatible with Swiss? I wil try again this evenng with the new Swiss release.

same here. sdboot has faster loading times than swiss. maybe the hdd is a reason for this and I try another one.

The SD Read code in Swiss is actually faster than that in sd-boot... you may think sd boot was faster cause it would cut out audio jitter but it's not. I will post a version for all the "SD-Boot 0.4 works great on my wii but swiss doesn't" which might fix your issues, give me 12hrs.

Of course it's really working, what kind of question is that :P I test every thing before saying it's working.

Setting the Physical Memory Size and Console Simulated Mem size is enough because the apploader will check these and it won't go above them.

for those who can't get "anything to work" on Wii, please try this version. Also, others are welcome to try it.

DO NOT USE PREPATCHED FILES OR FILES THAT REQUIRE THE PREPATCHER WITH IT - THEY WON'T WORK (for now)

Many thanks emu_kidid!

Swiss-GC release 29 (downloaded directly from googlecode page) works great for Pokemon Box on Wii SM 4.3U (without installing custom MIOS, since I use SD Media Launcher). I actually could use the shrinked version of the game (using GCMUtility.exe) without pre-patching it.

Here is the video to show it.

Thank you so much for swiss, emu_kidid! It's a great prog and I noticed a big leap towards compatibility (GC,SDML) compared to sdboot. And the extra functions are great! But I have some questions:

How to help you with increasing the compatibility? Noticed that some people still post the running/not running games here. Should we continiue with that or actually use the compatibility Wiki?

And do you think, it would be possible to add cd/dvd emulation to swiss?

Greetings!
