My GC stopped reading discs. What are my options now?

I've heard of the Swiss thing but apparently that requires a disc to work, no? There are also modchips but I'd rather not mod my console. I'm new to all of this and would like to know if there's a way to launch Swiss without the disc reader or whatever other method that would allow me to still play games on the unmodded console.

Some guidance will be much appreciated.

For unmodified, you need a working disc drive. There's no exploit for BS2/IPL (the menu you see when you boot up the GameCube).
