Post by wii_HD » Fri Jun 10, 2011 6:20 pm

Can the dial-up modem be used in any useful way regards homebrew or anything at all or is it a doorstop.

Seen a cheap model and wondering if its worth getting.

I don't see any use for it because the official servers for online gaming are not online anymore. Maybe it's possible to use the connectors for building a selfmade BBA?^^

You can try to set up a dial-up server on your PC and then connect to that. I know people are using this method to get online with a Dreamcast. (http://www.maturion.de/dreamcast/mterlouw/)
But I don't think there is any homebrew that is compatible with the dial-up modem. You will have to use a game that is compatible with the modem.
