Re: XenoFUSION
sure, you can use just an atmega chip alone with a few caps (and tape or epoxy it inside the portable)
...it all works the same
as i pointed out, i used a stand alone atmega on a breadboard for a test run of the code before i added it into the xeno code....

Re: XenoFUSION
hey i have a question i bought a xeno chip about 3 days ago and i want to try this (well a friend is installing it anyways)
i just wanted to know if you have to re program the chip with the .hex file? if so what can i use to do this ( i mean how or what do i connect it to ?) sorry about the extreme noob question

Re: XenoFUSION
Well xenofusion is now obsolete, mega and loc found wkf autoboot. Basically doing away with the pin29 switch completely. To answer your question, yes the xeno would need to be flashed with the hex file provided. You can flash it either via the xenoflasher program that will flash via dvd rom. For this you need to compile the dol yourself or inject it into the flasher for it to work, or you could flash it via a programmer. Details about this can be found on the wiki.
Re: XenoFUSION
thank you soo much!! for the fast replay i will look at the wiki page ^_^
Re: XenoFUSION
Is the file "GCOS 1.5.patched.dol.rar" the flasher for the xenofusion firmware?
Or we still need to flash externally the xenogc with a programmer?

Re: XenoFUSION
I suggest to flash via JTAG
I never posted a compiled version of the flasher since its still a little buggy...but you can use the HEX I posted

Re: XenoFUSION
I see... megalomaniac is there any chance you share this buggy flasher you made and try and flash on the gc that the chip is currently installed? if it fails I can always resort to jtag flashing (that I need to research how to connect it with my lpt jtag flasher... something I am not that eager to do LOL)
Re: XenoFUSION
Checkout the wiki. There is a lpt diagram.
Re: XenoFUSION
I see the diagram of how to make the LPT programmer but not how to connect to a xenogc, I am looking here: http://www.gc-forever.com/wiki/index.ph ... noGC_CloneDuhasst0 wrote:Checkout the wiki. There is a lpt diagram.
I guess I have to decode the miso/mosi/sck/etc pins on the qfp chip the xenogc uses? and then remove the installed chip to update it... that's something I wish to avoid if possible...
btw with what program one flashes the chip on windows?

this.

Re: XenoFUSION
yep, that's what I was looking at... what is the VCC value btw? 5v? 12v?
Will wait for megalomaniac, maybe he sends the flasher for testing... else it's wire chaos
