Cobra 2 Themes

Post by doktor_krotch » Fri Aug 20, 2010 2:05 pm

Decided to do something useful and make a new theme.

Static Metroid theme:

Google wide theme (new):

Looks like the search engine of the same name. It goes without saying that Google, the Google logo, etc are trademarks of Google Inc and that this is just a fan's work. I haven't tested it on my GC yet, but it should work fine. Let me know if it doesn't. Enjoy.

Updated 7/11/2010.

Hm... I just have a normal Viper (not extreme) and I think it's too big for the flash...

doktor_krotch, nice work, let me know if you'd like a forum just for these themes :)

Thanks emu_kidid. I dunno if it warrants it's own forum for just Cobra themes, but I'm sure there lots of other homebrew apps on GC and Wii that can be themed, so I think it'd be cool if you made a generic theming or skinning forum. I've got some more ideas, and I'll probably port them all for the Qoob Pro or whatever else people can suggest.

Also andzlay, I've got a static version of this theme here, so I'll see if I can make it small enough to fit on the regular viper without hurting quality too much (it's about 20k too big right now).

EDIT - I think I've also got all the themes originally from http://nintenskinz.tehskeen.com/ lying around somewhere.

I worked on the static (no pseudo-animation) version of the theme to get it under 128k for ViperGC users. It's about 119k.

Welcome to the club. So which Mod Chips do you have? I have a Viper and a Xeno GC. It would be neat to setup a test where you have a cube with all 3 of them installed with some sort of switch to enable/disable them. Then test various games and software (cobra, gcos, etc) to see which are better performing.

I've found GCOS to usually work better than Cobra.

Here's the themes that used to be hosted on tehskeen. I think that was all of them, it was a pretty small web page if I remember correctly. Lucky how when I fill a hard drive I rarely delete things, I just buy a new hard drive and store the old one :)

They're about the same, but personally I find the Qoob Pro a lot more simple to use.

speaking of Cobra 2 themes.

Cobra 2 = Viper Extreme only?
please search before you ask - a lot has been discussed already!

Yeah in a way. Just checked the manual and it says that skins only work on the Viper GC Extreme. The bios itself should work on both though.

EDIT - first post updated.

A remake of the Google theme as a qoob bg. It was made with the currect day Google homepage, so will be slightly different. I don't have the hardware to test these with anymore, so it may look ridiculous. Test, and let me know if it works. I'll probably do sone more if i get bored over the next few days.
