Did anyone try taking the drive out of the Wii Mini and connecting it to a Gamecube?
Silly idea?

Has any progress been made in regards to Wii Mini R&D? If we could figure out the drive pinout and then use a wiikey to launch devolution, it could make a nice gamecube portable that also plays wii games

custom ISO with the launcher DOL? Though I guess you still run into the problem that you need a working exploit to install cIOS or launch with AHBPROT, and most of them rely on the existence of the SD card slot. Did you ever get your hands on one, emu_kidid?

A drive mod alone will not let you run unsigned code.

Yes suchipi, I did get one but haven't pulled it apart or tried anything on it yet.

Since WiFi and the message board/SD card are gone, the only feasible avenue for a hack would be via USB.

the wii mini seems to have the same components as the original, id say the easiest way to get homebrew on it would be through figuring out how to wire a wkf to it.

Back in the day, there was a Homebrew channel installer that was an ISO that could be burned to disc to be used with a hardmodded/chipped Wii. I never used it so don't know if anything more than an installed chip was required. Perhaps that could be updated with the latest homebrew channel and installed with the WiiKey fusion?

Oh yea, I still have those Trucha bug ios's on my 3.2 wii.

When the Wii mini was first announced last year, at first it wasn't known if there was an SD slot or USB port, I kind of was thinking of a glitched Mii installed to the Wii mini from a Wii remote. I don't know how all that stuff works but somebody (tueidj) could figure it out.

You can't just force an exploit into any piece of code.

I doubt marcan and bushing care at all? Though, I feel like even if they did, they'd make it so only the homebrew channel works and nothing else

You mean like how HBC on WiiU/vWii doesn't disable AHBPROT, meaning pirates can't install any CIOSes? Oh wait, that didn't happen at all...

In this post, I would like to know if the mini wii can start the gamecube via nintendont.
I don't have the Wii Mini, I want to know just out of curiosity ... there are 2 USBs there and the explorer ...
can you start the gamecube ???

Nintendon't works on Wiis with no GC ports, so why won't it run on the Wii mini, as long as you are able to run the HBC on it?
There are some videos on Youtube of WiiMini running GC games, and maybe tutorials around, while I don't know if it is running via Nintendon't. I didn't investigate more on this subject.
