Just thought I'd post this link for anyone here that might of missed it.
Would be nice if the same kind of thing applied to Mario Kart Arcade GP too.

What is it and how can we use it?
Re: Hackers Find F-Zero AX Arcade Game Hidden In GC F-Zero G
Basically it is a full playable version of the F-Zero AX Arcade Game hidden on the F-Zero GX GameCube disc.
You can unlock it using an Action Replay and the codes listed in the article that I linked to or by using a Cobra modchip and the codes that megalomaniac provided in the post above.

Yeah sorry my mistake. I forgot that Viper is the name of the modchip and Cobra is the name of the BIOS for it

Good old PSOload+ActionReplay 1.14 .dol worked for me!
(I acquired a friend's AR memory card device, because the disk was broken).
The game runs in AX mode like a charm (F-Zero continues to look WONDERFUL today, especially with a component cable!)
I have to wonder about 2 things now though:
The physical arcade cabinets can be LAN'd together for multiplayer, could this be done for AX?
Also, does this actually unlock the courses, machine parts, and characters in GX in the same easy manner that the real arcade kiosk does? (I'll test this later and report back).

Re: Hackers Find F-Zero AX Arcade Game Hidden In GC F-Zero G
Is this any different from the AX cup that can be unlocked the normal way?
Re: Hackers Find F-Zero AX Arcade Game Hidden In GC F-Zero G
O.K. Thanks...

Yes, it plays EXACTLY like the actual arcade cabinet would:AC_Orange wrote:Is this any different from the AX cup that can be unlocked the normal way?
There's a big timer at the top, and various checkpoints along the track, like most arcade racers.
Also, you can't adjust difficulty, but you do have access to random custom vehicles that (I think) can include the parts that are otherwise only accessible by inserting a memory card into an AX cabinet.
Re: Hackers Find F-Zero AX Arcade Game Hidden In GC F-Zero G
That's pretty sweet. Thanks for that
Re: Hackers Find F-Zero AX Arcade Game Hidden In GC F-Zero G
it plays fine but you can't use the memory card or use settings in pause menu
Re: Hackers Find F-Zero AX Arcade Game Hidden In GC F-Zero G
absolutely, gotta test that!AC_Orange wrote:That's pretty sweet. Thanks for that

Because it sounds like mautheus will die if his life force is not sustained by screenshots ...
This is just here because the game still uses the GX title/attract sequence. The first time I tried it I restarted like four times thinking it hadn't worked.
Fun arcade-y stuff.
This comes right after the instructional screen. Note the Japanese at bottom--this is NTSC-USA.
Track select is sort of a bit busted. It all works, but there's Japanese crap, nonsense play stats, mixed up track order, etc.
"Bahamut", the original machine offered by the game.
Time Extension!

I seriously need to try this out. Does anyone else think this game is harder to play using the steering wheel instead of the controller?
