Re: IDE-EXI new batch
im done...
im finished dealing with the case manufacturer...
our original deal was made in January for 50 ide-exi cases.
to date, i have received 2 shipments of cases..
~15 in the first shipment when i discovered the "blue tape fix" i wrote about here
i notified the manufacturer to ensure this was corrected...
i decided to hold off further sales until i received the second shipment with the adjustments to the case dimensions...
i then received the second shipment last week, i think....
~15 in the second shipment which all require the "blue tape fix"
so out of the 50 cases which were already paid for, i have only received a total of about 33 cases...
the blue tape is a simple solution which also works on the WIISD adapter i wrote about...
the blue tape i used on the WIISD adapter a few years ago is still the same tape that i use even to this day....
since the tape in inside the case and under the pcb it is not even noticeable unless you are looking for it...
my original plan was to use the demo cases i received and cast my own molds, but i considered all the time and effort the guy spend to work on the design and decided to pay him for his efforts and production....
well now im gonna make my changes and cast my own cases...i wont do it yet as i have a few other projects, but i also need to buy some casting supplies too ( *alumilite, thanks ashen)
as ive indicated before, and PCB work perfect and the cases are fine, except for cases do not position the PCB at the proper height to make proper contact in the card slot (hence the reason for the blue tape)
now the interesting turn of events, i will now learn to mold and cast which may really really come in handy for another project in the future...yes i said i will have to learn, but dont let that bother you, at least with the production under my control i will only release nothing but the best work possible....

Re: IDE-EXI new batch
Very nice. Does it fit in the Cube with another memory card ? It seems obvious that you can't insert two of these at the same time though.

Re: IDE-EXI new batch
I spent a few minutes doing the shell of mines (from memory cards), but hell, yours look sexy !
By the way, one of mine has a red LED, the other one has blue LED. Somehow funny
