Gamecube len and laser doubt

Post by matius » Tue Jul 30, 2013 10:17 pm

well, all my life i wanted to play GC games, and im planning on getting a used one, but im worried about the len, this kind of lend is a generic type, the optical devices of the gc are the same than other consoles or dvd drives for example?, i asked this because here in my country there are not a lot of original parts for replacement, and if i buy a used one and the len go off i will be on trouble...
hope you can get me an answer!

thanks for all!
Matías.
ps: i thought the other forum was the one to put this question so sorry for double post

GameCube laser lens are available on eBay last time I checked for about $15-$25. Even if your laser lens dies you can still play games via SDGecko and Swiss if you have a modchip like a Qoob or similar installed.

I found a lot of games ran slowly or even crashed when I tried to run them via sd gecko. My wiikey fusion sd slot runs way faster. Did I do something wrong possibly?
