Oh yeah. Now that you brought that up, I did recall sending a package to you.
Have you opened it yet?

At this rate this topic will be super off topic.
Finally found a use for these....
But seriously. We should get back on track.

only a few photos of GameCubes can cure the serious case of off-topicness that this thread has caught

Re: Show off your Cube!
You can blame that on my sister. I share a room with her....or at least I used to....
Thankfully she took that thing down awhile back.

Finally taking some time to post some pictures of my Cube, to save the thread!emu_kidid wrote:only a few photos of GameCubes can cure the serious case of off-topicness that this thread has caught
The area is a bit cramped and unfortunately the PS3 overshadows the GC a bit. Meh, it is what it is.

Re: Show off your Cube!
Did something GameCube related today. Finally got around to fixing my beloved MadCatz GC controller. This thing has been pretty much inoperable since 2007. The cord wore out in a couple places (internally). Basically a short or a loose connection. It resulted in the analog sticks not working right or the controller not even powering up.
So I finally got around to shortening the cable. I took it off starting at the wires just before they enter the outer rubber covering of the cable (since that is one place where it wore out) and had cut the cord in half leaving the still working part.
My fine motor skills with my hands are total sh** so using tape was out of the question. So I used hot glue to insulate the new connections I made. (Didn't do any re-soldering since I didn't remove the wires from the circuit board since I left the wires on. I only cut them right up to the point before they exit the controller housing)
Then I used more hot glue to anchor the cord to the outer casing so it's not going anywhere. I don't really abuse my controllers so it should be more then enough to hold it all in place. Only thing I don't like about this controller is that it's a b**** to reassemble. Aside from that it was one of the more comfortable controllers for me to use and was my favorite. I was sad when it stopped working. Now it lives again and I'm happy! Cord is short now, but I can always buy and extension cable if I need it. For now it's more then enough for use with Dolphin or my real GameCube since it's still sitting on top of my computer.

Now the controller is 100% again! Ohhh yeah!

I usually just snip the cord and re-wire, or place them in the trash

Re: Show off your Cube!
I love fixing broken things. I never once thought about throwing the controller away.
Re: Show off your Cube!
Alright. Some of you may of seen a post where I asked about the XCM bottom half. Of course these are hard to find so I decided to use the Indigo bottom and a DOL-003 Nintendo controller to match. I also changed the "C" stick to match the analog one. The Viper logo was peeling off so I made my own sticker to replace it.

Yeah, that's what made me decide to do it. It came out better than I expected actually.emu_kidid wrote:interesting, haven't seen that done before.

Re: Show off your Cube!
That's pretty cool, I've done a similar thing to my xenogc cubes, I have swapped the indigo eject with black, and vice versa so I know which of my cubes are chipped

Re: Show off your Cube!
Some of these Gamecubes are incredible, I knew about Vipers because someone once borrowed my old copy of PSO off me so they could mod their cube but I've never seen IcedCube before it looks awesome.
Re: Show off your Cube!
Might as well get this up. My current set up away from home.
