You'll need:

3.5mm GameBit (to open up the Gamecube)
Phillips head screwdriver (get a variety of sizes - there are rather small screws inside)
Flat screwdriver (medium size)
Soldering Iron
Solder
Multimeter (to adjust the POT)
XenoGC Modchip
8cm Ritek DVD-r or a case replacement (hard to find) and normal 12cm Ritek DVD-r

To add to emu's list, I would also get flux and kynar wire. flux is what you put on a contact that you want to solder. When it is heated up by the iron, it cleans the surface and makes it easy for the solder to flow onto it.

I recommend using kynar wire (or any thin wire) for connecting the chip to the appropriate points. I don't recommend soldering a xeno chip directly to the board. It's too easy to mess up and then you run the risk of lifting up pads.
