The first Item are these "Trigger Grips" for the Playstation Vita. They are currently on clearance at Best Buy for only $6 and I believe that they have a lot of potential for use as the L and R Buttons on our portables. Here are a few pictures of it.
As you can see, the triggers have quite a bit of travel to them. They also have a nice springiness to them and the contour to the finger very nicely.
From these photos you can see a flat piece that moves as the triggers are pressed. To me, it seems like it will be a very easy task setting up a dual tact mod mounted behind these triggers.
The second item of interest is the PS Vita Case. I'm not sure if anyone has ever tried using this before, but it is a perfect size for a portable and a Medium Cut Revision A/B Motherboard fits in it with room to spare. The best part is that it only costs about $8 used at Gamestop. The dimensions are 20cm (L) 10cm (W) 3.5cm (D)
The best part is that since they're designed for the same handheld, the pieces are close enough in size that Franken Casing them together shouldn't be too difficult.
I hope that someone finds these useful in their endeavors. I for one am going to try my best to use these for my next portable.
