GC w/IPL v1.0U + Wiikey Fusion w/Swiss Autoboot r216

Hi! I am eventually going to build a portable GC from learning here.

it is a DOL-001 GC
To my understanding, IPL v1.0 (NTSC-U) is incompatible with Wiikey Fusion, however I have also heard that with Swiss Autoboot flashed it will work fine. Has this been tested? If not, I will be the tester

On to second question:
After I desolder the DVD Drive connector I need to replace it with this:
What do I need to specify, on this order?

Don't order that, there is a better adapter at badassconsoles.com. Especially if you want to go portable.

Also note that r216 is a really old build of Swiss. r280 is the latest currently.

Yes, I am aware. I bought this WKF preflashed back in February, r216 was the latest build at the time.
Is there a guide somewhere here detailing how to reflash? [Note: I am IPL v1.0, willing to change if that will cause issues]

You're looking for the Megadrive v5 or v6 depending on the cut you're making.

To reflash it's easy as pie as long as you have an SD gecko. Just load the latest version of Swiss on a fat32 card and boot it from the SD gecko, then select the firmware from your SD card and Swiss will self-flash to the WKF.

I will likely be going for the Ashen's WTF cut, I have a IPL v1.0 DOL 001 gc, not sure about the board type yet...
In terms of a poly case, should I go for a flush or textured for a 5" display?
