Ashen's Wii Laptop

So, I built a Wii Laptop. :D

Vidya was taken with my iPhone. Sorry for the quality:



Specs:

Custom made bottom chassis, unit is roughly 15.5" x 11.5" x 1.75" when shut (screen & bottom together).
17" widescreen laptop monitor from a Dell Inspiron 1720
5000mAh 14.8v li-poly battery pack. Lasts a little over 2hrs on a full charge (god that screen is power hungry).
Lasts roughly 4.5hrs with the screen and other portable components turned off (wii only mode).
Stereo sound, headphone output. AV out (component only).
4x GC controller ports, Wii sync button, Wii usb port and "built in" removable 500GB USB HDD.

Uhmmm, yeah...wow. Very nice work, beautifully crafted casing as well.
Dream mod: HI-speed port device utilizing 4:4:4 RGB 32 bit colour, 720p video and variable refresh rate. :shock:
Favourite mod: GC Loader flashed with latest swiss.
Eagerly awaiting a normal, form-factor wise, wireless controller with rumble. :)

What is TRIFORCE, NINTENDO SUPERNINTENDO,...?
How to get them?

This is pretty amazing. I actually have an old Dell inspiron (I think) laptop with a non working motherboard but the screen is fine, looks very much like the one you are using.

Benni, Triforce is an arcade system board based on the Gamecube, Nintendon't is a GC loader that doesn't require original games, while the compatibility is not as good as devolution, yet.

Thanks so much guys! Sorry for my late reply. Things have been crazy around here trying to get ready for Christmas. Updating first post with some specs. Cause, you know, I forgot to do that the first time.

Emu, I swear to god I'm working on that thing. Its just slow going atm as its gone through many revisions. Its coming though. ;)

I know this topic is pretty old and probably not on the forefront of your mind anymore, but I stunbled across this thread while doing some research into portable versions of various consoles. This seems to be one of the most streamlined and simple designs I can find, and I was wondering whether or not you can do builds for other people as a sort of commission.
