Has anyone used a Battery Pack for a portable

Like the ones that you use to charge cell phones with a 5v regulator built in, has anyone used them in portables?

I'm looking into the xtpower 10000mah external battery pack from amazon that has 2x 5V 2A and 1x 9v or 12v 1a or 2a. I was thinking about pulling the 5v lines in parallel to feed the 1.9v lines on a GameCube and then the 9v to do audio and the 3.3v regulator and 5v regulator.


This way it has built in battery level, charge and step down regulators.

What do you guys think?

Well the GC power brick is rated for 40W. I doubt such a battery pack (which would provide 2.1A max, at least that's what mine does) allows high enough current.

the brick is rated that high to provide additional power for BBA, GBplayer, 4x controllers with rumble, and anything else they had in mind for SP2

the mainboard and DVD will work with 5v @ 3.5A
a WASP will allow for less current....i would guess maybe about 1A less
then factor in the current draw from speakers and monitor...
also factor in a bit of regulator loss....

maybe 1.5 to 2 hours max gameplay

Yeah, I meant that the built-in regulator might not be enough to power the console. But again, it provides only 5V and you need more than that for the other components

It has two 5v 2A and one switchable 9/12V 1A output that are open at once according to reviews. I was more interested in the play and charge functionality of this. No need to build your own circuit
