Wasp fusion help, swiss won't load
Wasp fusion help, swiss won't load
Hi guys this is my first post, so I'm sorry if something is not correct in my post, but I need help with something. My wasp is wired up with a megadrive v3 I have the right side lid pin and the p29 wired to the ground for auto boot, before I wIredell anything it just said to enter a disk and there was a light blue flashing lights on the wasp and would sometimes blink reading disc. Now that it's wired when I turn it on swiss doesn't load but it also doesn't show the gamecube logo it just boots to a blank screen weather an sd card is in or not I have a 64gb microsd with an adapter what do I need to do to get swiss to load and how do I getc the SD card to have games be read.
Re: Wasp fusion help, swiss won't load
Is swiss already flashed to the wasp? Also what is the IPL version of your cube? I encountered something similar wherein the "reading disc" was in conjunction with the blink of the wasp so I believed that my wiring was ok. So I used a Wii to upgrade the Wiikey fusion firmware to 1.5 and then flash Swiss. When I plugged it back to the Gamecube, it was now working properly. I figured my IPL was incompatible but thanks to Swiss being flashed as firmware, I have no more issues.
Re: Wasp fusion help, swiss won't load
If it boots to a black screen you've shorted something major out.

Re: Wasp fusion help, swiss won't load
When I take out my wasp and and put in a disk drive it works great also if I desolder the wires the blinking and reading disk still happens. I have not tried flashing swiss as I thought it was preloaded, how might I go about that I haven't been able to find anything?
Re: Wasp fusion help, swiss won't load
also my board is a cpu-50 it is a dol 101 if that helps diagnose the problem
Re: Wasp fusion help, swiss won't load
Only way to really help is to post some really clear pics of the wiring.

Re: Wasp fusion help, swiss won't load
Pop an sd card in.
Re: Wasp fusion help, swiss won't load
Ok, would you like to see pictures of that as well it doesn't change anything but I may not have the right sd card when I format it in win dowsing it is exfat it is 64 gb and is a Mico sd with an sd adapter I've also seen sdxc show up. Is this the right kind of sd card if so does anything need to be on it previous to me putting it in and if not what kind of sd will I need and will that need anything on it.
Re: Wasp fusion help, swiss won't load
Exfat won't work. It's a format Microsoft made, but nobody gave a damn about. Use Fat32.
Own a couple PAL and JPN cubes. And three BBAs. Homeland and PSO I/II.

Re: Wasp fusion help, swiss won't load
To be fair, Microsoft made FAT32 as well.
The difference is that FAT32 has been around for a very long time and is well documented, while Microsoft won't release the specifications of the much newer exFAT, so only Microsoft-approved devices can read and write it.
AFAIK all SDXC cards come formatted in exFAT, so you have to reformat them to FAT32 to make them usable by anything that isn't Windows. SDHC cards are usually shipped with FAT32, but they have a maximum storage capacity of 32GB, so any time you buy an SD card with a capacity > 32GB, you know you have to reformat it before you can use it.

Re: Wasp fusion help, swiss won't load
Ok thanks guys, so when I format it to FAT32, the all I need to do is put it in and it'll work or does something need to be on the card?
Re: Wasp fusion help, swiss won't load
SD format doesn't matter to boot, it just needs to be in the slot.
Re: Wasp fusion help, swiss won't load
So since it is not booting was there something wrong with my wiring or does something need to be on the card?
Re: Wasp fusion help, swiss won't load
Ok so I formatted my sd as a fate32 and put it in still with the same result when it's all wired up blank screen but when the wire is desoldered it shows Insert disk/reading disk in correspondence with a blinking blue light on the wasp which seems to be normal, it blinks blue as well when wired but no display what can I do? There is nothing on the SD card by the way.
