Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GCN/WIIRD/NTSC-U)
I notice a problem with the background music modifier code in that the song that plays doesn't have all the sounds. For instance,
c22a34bc 00000002
3fa08000 63bd0019
60000000 00000000
plays the song when your fighting a mini boss but some of the sounds are missing. Not just this song but it seems every song I try has this problem. Has anyone else encountered this issue and can someone fix it or maybe explain if I'm missing something? I really don't know... If someone could help that would be appreciated. I have the same issue with the background music modifier in Twilight Princess, too.
*edit*
Sorry, after double checking it seems not all the songs have issues, but some do such as the mini boss theme, windfall island and so on.*

Does that fix the warp pot effect?

Nope, Boomerang targeting was fixed in version 2.1. However, I've updated the v2.1 code again and now the Warp Pot effect is also working fine.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GCN/WIIRD/NTSC-U)
Awesome job Ralf! Was waiting for a boomerang fix for a while!
About the Warp Pot effect, even Wind Waker HD couldn't pull the effect off, so they changed the transition effect when you use it to a simple circle fade, as demonstrated here: https://youtu.be/_hashM9Yrz8?t=1205
Maybe a similar thing could be done here?
Thanks for your time!
EDIT: Looks like you fixed the warp pot already, nevermind!

Do you know if there is a versión of that code that works with nintendont?wiiztec wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 8:27 amThe reason it doesn't work right with Nintendont is because I made it with DIOS MIOS which keeps the original memory arrangement in Gamecube mode while nintendont runs in wii mode and maps to the full wii memory so some addresses will be wrong because of the different memory mappingXModxGodx wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 5:27 amThe above code definitely has issues with Nintendont either crashes when pressing down on the d pad or on screen transitions depending on the version of nintendont. Also Better Wind Waker works fine for Nintendont so it should work just as well on gamecube as well though I probably wouldn't want to use the brisk sail it may cause problems plus it's way too fast to be accurate with whatsoever.

One glitch I found for sure with 2.1 is this menu's background not being fully stretched:

Other than that, it's been perfect so far!

You're a god send! Do you mind if I keep reporting bugs or nah?
Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GCN/WIIRD/NTSC-U)
Haven't tested the newest new widescreen code but it has minor issues with medli/makar's flight meter also one other super minor thing: the invisible Sword and shield while on back code has the shield invisible even when out with items other than the sword or on it's own (holding L+R)

Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GCN/WIIRD/NTSC-U)
The new sword and shield invisible code crashes when Link spawns on a new file.
Edit: turns out it's the new widescreen code not the invisible sword and shield code.

Both codes are working fine for me, must be a problem at your end.

I've been playing on real hardware, the Nintendo Wii with Nintendont, and I played with the 16:9 Aspect Ratio v2.1 (Widescreen) [Ralf] cheat codes, which is working perfectly. I noticed though that there were newer updates, so I replaced it with 16:9 Aspect Ratio v2.3 (Widescreen) [Ralf]. That new version breaks the game when I get to the Forest Haven cutscene, which you get first time you visit the Island. I tried restarting the game three times, then I turned cheats off just to make sure it wasn't something else that caused the error. Then I reverted back to v2.1 and the game works perfectly again. I havn't tried v2.2 yet, but v2.3 for sure breaks the game on real hardware on at least this cutscene.
Thank you very much for this amazing cheat though. I greatly appreciate being able to play the original Wind Waker in Widescreen.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GCN/WIIRD/NTSC-U)
The Forest Haven cutscene is working fine for me so far, tested with the PAL/Gecko 16:9 Aspect Ratio v2.3 code on real GC hardware (PAL GameCube with USB Gecko and GeckoOS). Beyond that, there aren't any cutscene related fixes in v2.2 or v2.3 that could cause such a crash:
v2.1 change log
- Boomerang targetting fix
- Warppot screen fade in/out fix
v2.2 change log
- Dungeon map screen width fix
- Items screen width fix
- Option screen width fix
- Save screen width fix
- Teleport screen width fix
- Treasure maps screen width fix
v2.3 change log
- Area name x pos fix
- Makar/Medli energy meter x pos fix
So, it seems to be a "special" Nintendont problem (could be a code size problem etc.).

Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GCN/WIIRD/NTSC-U)
If you right click the game and enable MMU in Dolphin it emulates the game closer to hardware crashes and all. Definitely seems to be linked to the latest widescreen code older versions don't seem to crash. (tested with the opening it crashes when going under the bridge)

Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GCN/WIIRD/NTSC-U)
I did some testing of my own. It's not the cutscene itself, it's the area name x pos fix. During the intro cutscene to the game, as the camera pans over the bridge on Outset Island, the area name "Outset Island" appears on screen. For whatever reason, when using Nintendont, the console locks up completely at the exact moment that text should appear. Through a process of trial and error I found that omitting a single line...Ralf@gc-forever wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 5:43 pmThe Forest Haven cutscene is working fine for me so far, tested with the PAL/Gecko 16:9 Aspect Ratio v2.3 code on real GC hardware (PAL GameCube with USB Gecko and GeckoOS). Oops, there's a typo in the first line of the US v2.3 WiiRD/Gecko code (but not in the AR version and the PAL versions).
I've correted the US v2.3 WiiRD/Gecko code (in my older post) and it should be working fine now. Thank you for your effort to find out that the area name x pos fix was the cause of the lock up.

Tested and confirmed working as intended now! Thanks for fixing it so quickly!
Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GCN/WIIRD/NTSC-U)
Is there a code that can allow the movement in first person/when aiming with a first-person item? Similar to the HD version.
Now that said, my ultimate goal is to be able to use Item Slide. I know someone did a custom code for it but it was for JP only which I don't want. I guess if someone with knowledge could modify it to be able to work on NA/US version of the game, it would solve my issue. Thanks!
The code in question that I'm talking about is in the description of this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiMy9kRtBHc
Here it is directly:

Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GCN/WIIRD/NTSC-U)
Unless I'm not understanding something, these do not work. I still cannot move while aiming with either the boomerang, grappling hook, grapples nor bow :/Ralf@gc-forever wrote: ↑Fri Oct 28, 2022 9:17 amCode: Select all
