SD2SP2 2.0 casual chat

Post by s8n187 » Sat Jul 27, 2024 8:09 am

hi members , I am one of the first lucky Gamecube SD2SP2 2.0 owners to try it out. And I must say it's pretty impressive , the first game I tried was Soul Calibur 2. It is notorious for the FMV to skip every 1-2 seconds. Anyway it passed smoothly start to finish.

I have tested more games/titles on the wiki compatibility list with success. I'm hoping you guys can get one and contribute to the compatibility list , you could leave your findings here on the forum and some one can input the data to the wiki page.

This will help emu_kidid and Extrems iron out any bugs or add new features

Which SD card do you use? I suspect you're using Samsung from your The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest report.

hi guys , I've noticed not much activity since I have updated the Swiss Wiki table. I'm hoping more people will contribute to help emu_kidid and Extrems.

I will mention a few things below.........

• I've had a quick look on ebay and there were 6 sellers selling the SD2SP2 2.0 model.
• Prices vary but are still very cheap
• From what I can tell they are coming from China
• If your going to input data to the Wikipedia table , please follow the etiquette and input comments as this is most helpful.
• A blank comment with no description can be confusing
• Take a look at the wiki table , you will see my work with comments , hopefully we can keep things tidy and helpful for the coders and community
• If you can't submit data to Wikipedia , someone here can help.

Hi!, I've seen your updates, and was wondering about that V2 thing, seeing vaguely it's about interruption connection.

I'd love to know how I can mod my handmade SD2SP2 so it can upgrade to V2, and if it's of any interest to put some sort of V1/V2 switch or something?

hi Papy , it's easier to buy a V2 than mod your V1. When I got mine I was eager to try Soul Calibur 2 , where the intro FMV would stutter. And yep the V2 passed with flying colors , no more stutter. Other games have benefited too

The new V2.0 has increased speeds over the V1.0 , as you mentioned about modifying your current one would be really messy. Hence grab one from your favourite retailer , there's different sellers when I googled.

That's great news! The GameCube SD2SP2 2.0 seems like a fantastic upgrade for retro gaming enthusiasts, and it's exciting to hear that it works so well with a title like Soul Calibur 2, which has historically had FMV issues. retro bowl
