Pico / Flippy drive compatibility

Post by boredomca » Tue Feb 18, 2025 1:47 pm

Both of these mods use the 2040 chip, so would it be possible to flash the pico with the Flippys software and solder it in?
Also the game select menu on the Flippy is nice, can we port it to Pico or GC loader?

No. Flippydrive also uses ESP32. They promised to make it open source in the future. But for now only PicoBoot is fully open source and free.

Is that only on the newer one with Bluetooth and Ethernet compatibility?

All the of released versions of FlippyDrive available to the public have the ESP32 aside from the first couple unreleased dev revisions that where built for prototyping before the redesign and addition of the ESP32.

It's like they knew someone would ask this question. So the prototype software on the website would probably support pico only?
