Pico Boot back to game menu

Post by TheBoss » Tue Jan 21, 2025 8:53 am

Hi all,
Im brand new to the GC scene. Ive purchased a GC and had it modded with Picco. The issue Im having is I know you should be able to get back to the game list using a combination of buttons whilst playing a game. When I do this (Ive tried various combinations) it always takes me to the GC screen which is not helpful. I have checked that reset is enabled and SPD2SD is selected. I read somewhere that it might be because SD card isnt format to FAT32. Is that really the reason? I cant see it. Anyway any pointer would be great. Thanks

You need /swiss/patches/apploader.img on the SD card. It can be found in the Apploader folder.

The most likely reason your PicoBoot-modded GameCube’s IGR button combination (e.g., D-Pad Down + R + Z + B) resets to the GameCube IPL instead of the Swiss game menu is that your SD card is not formatted to FAT32. Swiss requires FAT32 for IGR to work, and exFAT/NTFS causes it to fail. Reformat your SD card to FAT32 using a tool like GUIFormat, copy the Swiss files (ipl.dol, IGR.dol, /swiss/patches/apploader.img), and verify IGR settings in Swiss. Geometry Dash

That's no longer the case and that hasn't been the combo for years.
