I pretty much have $300 to work with.
Specs:
Wii softmodded
Sundriver
160gb HDD
Internal controls
4.3" screen with a 1440*272 resolution (will replace with a better screen eventually)
Update June 8th 2011: pic of design
Update June 14h 2011: Just got everything ordered/in hand
Update June 16th 2011: Wii should arrive today along with the CC controller
Problems that need to be solved:
Using the Classic Controller with GC games ( The CC is compatible with the GameCube so maybe a couple of switches will get the job done.)
(No you cannot use a Gamecube controller with the wiimote)
Eventually making a touchcreen for the wii main menu ( easy just need to learn some code)
WiiT (a portable wii worklog)

Re: WiiT (a portable wii worklog)
Just interested: how do you want to connect the controller to the wii?
Re: WiiT (a portable wii worklog)
Through the wiimote but it will be all internal.

It's a good thing the wii menu supports the Classic controller already.

Then you could use something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RE_s_X0Cac
This guy uses a microcontroller to convert the gamecube controller signals to classic controller signals.

What if the Wii Remote's battery dies? Will it be connected with the master battery along with the system itself?
