Swiss 0.1
Re: Swiss 0.1
Ardiloso, why can't you finish the other half of the game, MGS TS 2 disc support should work in swiss, how have you named your disc 1 vs disc 2?

Re: Swiss 0.1
Because the disc 2 iso won't load (and i get that error). I'm asking if anybody tested to know if the problem lies within my iso or not.emu_kidid wrote:Ardiloso, why can't you finish the other half of the game, MGS TS 2 disc support should work in swiss, how have you named your disc 1 vs disc 2?
They're named as MGS-disc1.iso and MGS-disc2.iso.
The problem is not with 2 disc support, just the second disc don't load (alone or when prompted to swap discs).

Re: Swiss 0.1
NTSC. This is the error, after the konami logo:

I got the same error with disc 1 but pre-patcher solved it.

No. I don't like cheats in my games. Chun-kun got this error too, but in both discs.
My setup is: 8GB sandisk micro SD (LG micro sd adapter), Gamecube NTSC-U and component cables.
I'll try formatting the card then trying again. Be back with results.
EDIT:
Solved. The card just needed to be formatted. The second disc's iso boots alone but I can't change discs ingame. How should I proceed? The game says: open the lid, change discs, close the lid. I open the lid then close it, stuck in a black screen after that. Is there a special way to load the second iso that I don't know?

Re: Swiss 0.1
and you've named both iso's properly?
Don't pre-patch the games, boot up disc 2, then try to go to disc 1, and the other way around too. then try it in the actual spot when it asks you to change.

I tried what you said. No success.
Tried:
(1) boot disc 1 then load -> open/close lid when prompted
(2) boot disc 2 then 1 then load -> open/close lid
(3) boot disc 1 then 2 then load game -> open/close lid
BUT!!!
I tried (1) with your first swiss public version and worked perfectly, now I'm playing the second disc! Looks like something got broken in r47.
I wish I could send you my savegame so you could see for yourself but I only have a huge third party MC, no memory card manager works with it (MCbackup, GCmm, GCS, even tried you GCFTP but it only reads, no down or uploads).
Thanks for your help, if you know a MC manager who works with my card http://tinyurl.com/62xux8j and want my savegame, I'll gladly send it to you.

Re: Swiss 0.1
time for a status update since Swiss hasn't seen much public activity..
I have been working on a different patch style system that I hoped would be more robust in games but it turns out that it has its limitations
As a result, I've decided to include two patching modes in the next version of Swiss, but this requires major changes (and they've been long overdue) to the patching & assembly code I've been using in Swiss.
So far, the new mode is slightly faster, fixes Mario sunshine audio loss, but it will only be useful for a select few games and it will totally break some others (Metroid, Smash Bros. Melee).
Anyhow, so that's what I'm working on, I haven't made any commits because if I did, it'd break the build in SVN.

The next version will fix the dungeon map problem on Zelda Wind Waker?

Just thought I'd bring this PM I sent 'ya awhile back, since I'd imagine your inbox is always full of stuff and probably went unnoticed:
BigRobotBil wrote:Sorry to keep pestering you about this, but I just want to know if my harddrive referenced here will have support with Swiss and the IDE->EXI device. In an older post of mine, you stated the ones I were using were non-LBA and still had some problems. If you're still working on it, great! If it's a lost cause or it's not going to be done in the near future, I'll just go out and buy a newer harddrive that's already noted as being supported. I bought the IDE->EXI and still haven't been able to use it, and I would really love to! If it helps, games are detailed as being corrupted when checking the information, and then result in a code dump screen once booted. I've formatted the drive multiple times to FAT32, and I get the same result. And, again, this is the model harddrive I'm using: Western Digital WD800LB-55DNA0 80GB .

Re: Swiss 0.1
It seems Swiss is working very well with 64KB cluster sized cards.

Re: Swiss 0.1
If noone else does it, I will do this later.
(Can't right now, because my libfat is broken atm
I'm patching in fragmentation support in libfat 1.0.10...)

Re: Swiss 0.1
hey everyone, I haven't released a compiled version because I'm in the middle of some changes - such as the pre-patcher and patch codes. I will release one in a few hours when I consider it a bit more stable.
