Goals for Swiss 0.4
Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
It's not really feasible. The video output hardware can only scale up, not down.

I guess all the beer really makes mega see quadruple. He's probably not even aware of all the punctuation he's making.

Don't widescreen monitors usually have a setting for the aspect ratio so they don't end up stretching the image?
@emu_kidid: I reported some time back that audio streaming broke on the Wii. I do recall you fixing it, so I guess it broke again. Any idea when this would have happened, or should I do some regression testing?

Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
I don't really have a Wii that can run Swiss easily in GC mode at the moment. What's broken exactly?

Really nice work emu_kidid!
Is swiss_r276 still the newest nightly version? Thanks a lot.

Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
As soon as a game tries to use audio streaming, it either reports a problem and doesn't proceed (Super Monkey Ball, The Legend of Zelda: Master Quest) or crashes (Geist).emu_kidid wrote:I don't really have a Wii that can run Swiss easily in GC mode at the moment. What's broken exactly?

Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
I was wondering if a, 'Family Safe' setting could be added preventing the option to delete files (Games etc.) and maybe require a pin to be entered before being able to delete files. Alternatively just being able to set an option to disable deleting of files would be great!
Thank again for a great development emu kidid

Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
I have been tempted to hide the extra prompt when you click A on a file behind a "Show file management options"

Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
that would be great!
Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
Thanks emu_kidid
r279
- Make file management optional

Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
If possible, I'd like to be able to force the resolution of Swiss via component cables. There are options to, but they stay stuck at 480p no matter what via component cables.

Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
Midori do you mean force the Swiss menu to start up in say 576p? that would be very nice. I think I tried editing the cfg to this effect however it did not work.
that reminds me I also tried editing the cfg to say yes to stopping the motor on start-up but did not work? I'm guessing this is the reason none of these options are selectable in swiss gui itself.

Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
Just tested latest nightly build and i am able to select Swiss video mode 576p and confirmed working, thanks.
the option to enable file management really is great, thanks again!
I still haven't gotten stop motor on start up to work though.
I should mention the stop motor option works fine when loading games though.

Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
When you refer to file management, do you refer to single file management or can we already manage folders?
Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
Single file management, as in, the prompt that asks what you want to do with a file will be hidden.

Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
Pretty much!turnerl wrote:Midori do you mean force the Swiss menu to start up in say 576p? that would be very nice.
When using a Component Cable, no matter how much you edit the settings the resolution is forced 480p. I've edited the setting to 240p, NTSC (480i), and all types of other resolutions but it won't do anything but 480p. I've also utilized the latest nightly build on October 8th just now. Apologize for the delay in response!emu_kidid wrote:Can you elaborate a bit more?
Pretty much I'd like to be able to force 480i, 240p etc in the menus via Component. As of right now it doesn't seem to work. I play on a Sony PVM so I can't play in 480p unfortunately!
Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
Any possibility to add folder management?
Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
I don't have a component cable but I have the same issue with the resolution setting not doing anything and the disc that doesn't stop spinning until I open and close the lid. I have a pal cube and I use r276. Loading the latest build on my SD gecko to see if it fixes it.
Edit :
Same deal with r280.
By the way it would be nice if the boot.dol feature was smarter. Right now if you put Swiss itself as your boot.fol it just loops. Having a check somewhere in there to avoid it would allow easy updating for those who boot from a DVD like I do.

Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
It's a lower priority fix. Not much incentive for him personally, most component TVs without 480p are found in North America.Midori wrote:When using a Component Cable, no matter how much you edit the settings the resolution is forced 480p. Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4
Yeah, I figured that. Although there is another issue with this I'll note. Since the resolution cannot be changed of Swiss Menu over Component cables, you cannot run .dol files in 240p. .dol files will be forced to 480p unless the .dol has resolution options within it.theclaw wrote:It's a lower priority fix. That's not up to Swiss, each homebrew has its own video routines.Midori wrote:Since the resolution cannot be changed of Swiss Menu over Component cables, you cannot run .dol files in 240p. .dol files will be forced to 480p unless the .dol has resolution options within it.
