I'll post the following here because it is part of my way to the "stuff understanding".
I've tested a bit the IDE-EXI adapter with one of my 80G HDD (a Maxtor, i don't have the model number right now, i'm at my job), test on my Qoob chipped GameCube.
I had some strange issues, i'll try to describe them.
First I load swiss directly from my Qoob. It's the 0.2r94 version. Once i'm in swiss, i load other version of swiss to test them.
Because i've loaded many different version, actually i don't know exactly what issue occured when :/
- i had issue for storing settings with 0.2r124. When i wanted to store them, i had a DOS style screen, kind of Error DSI, with many lines of numbers and letters. At the end of this screen, there was a "reset" when i wanted to push any button but the GC was freezed, I had to reboot the GC. For now i can't use the 0.2r124, every time i try to read the HDD with it, i have the same screen.
- i had issue with 0.3 version (both). I can open the HDD directory but there is nothing here, just as if it was blank (although there is games and swiss DOL that i can use with other version of swiss).
Once, i plugged my HDD to my computer, and the HDD appears as blank too. There was the space used by games shown in the HDD properties (for exemple 38G used, 30 free), but nothing to be read.
I had to format the HDD and reload all the games and swiss DOL.
- i had some more issue, I couldn't navigate in the swiss option pages, stucked in the first one freezed (i think i had this issue because for a while of testing, i didn't have any disc in the DVD driver).
I know that it's reaaly confused for a issue summary but as i told, i've done many swiss loading, test, freeze so i couldn't figure out what i've do ne when exactly.
I should have done more testing but i had no time.
After all this complain

- where does swiss store its settings and how (meaning a file, wich format) ? When i had the storing issue, i explored the HDD but can find anything like a setting file.
- if we load many swiss version one after one, could it be responsible for issues ?
- could it be a HDD problem ? i'll have another HDD this WE and will do more tests.
Once again, i know it's not very accurate for an issue report, but all these questions are torturing me :]
Thank you!
