you only have to connect the wires to these points. red wire is 5V, yellow is 12V and the black ones are ground.

12V is red
5V is Orange
...

You are talking about the wires...

I'm interested in doing this mod, right now I always have to keep my gamecube right next to my PC which is not optimal.. Is yamaharacer's picture correct?

I know this is an old topic, but what about a power supply for a 2.5" HDD. Or what about a compact flash to IDE adapter

just connect the proper power adapter...

2.5" and CF consume less power than some 3.5" HDDs...so its ok to still use GC power supply

a lot of sata adapters have been tested and worked fine
here is a post from years ago with a lot of great results...i also own some of the adapters listed in the post and the adapters can usually be found for 2$ on ebay
