I recently put a xeno chip in my ntsc gamecube. Unfortunately, my gamecube is one that doesn't allow for component cables (plus they're so expensive that I probably wouldn't bother buying them). I'm willing to settle with upscaled RGB Scart. So I was just wondering if it would be possible to replace a PAL disk drive with a modded NTSC drive? Would it work and could I get RGB?

I've done exactly this only the other way around so I assume it'll be fine.

No. It's a disk drive, not where the video output comes from.

The RGB scart I assume he means is what he'd gain from putting the drive in a PAL motherboard which is where the RGB would come from

That's exactly what I'd be hoping to gain. I'll give it a shot, seeing how it would be cheaper to do that than buy a digital port cube and component cable.

Yeah you'll gain RGB, lose s-video and the Japanese region mod.

Some recent Swiss revision made the ntsc-j switch mod obsolete.

Eh, I'd rather not have to use a boot disc every time.
Unless flashing Swiss to Qoob Pro via DVD has made progress.

Why not flash the Qoob using the USB port and software ?

Maybe he doesn't have the board or the software doesn't work on his pc ?
