gc wont power on after trimming

I trimmed my gamecube board and now the system won't power on and all the chips stay cool. when I connected the power board and tested the voltages they were all at 0v but the power board works fine when the gc is not connected to it. I tested the gc with a different power board and the same thing happened. I checked the gc board for any shorts but didn't find any. The gc was working perfectly before I cut it. I'd rather not have to get another gc and would like to get this one working again.

That looks like a really rough cut, what did you use to cut it? Usually you would sand all the cut edges and inspect for shorts between the layers. But it's gonna take a LOT of sanding to get in all the jagged crevices. If you do attempt another cut, I highly recommend using a cutoff wheel on a dremel and cutting as straight as possible.

Ive got the gc working now and I'll sand the edges. I guess I shouldn't have used a saw to cut it.

You have a short. The power board has a polyfuse to cut off when there's a short and protect the hardware, that's why you're getting 0V.
People usually use a dremel to cut the board by the way. With either tool you can't really make an accurate cut but the dremel gives a little more control I suppose (never used one).

I have a new problem now. I just wired up memory card A slot to the gamecube and when I put a memory card into it the first controller stops working. The wave bird reciver still recives the dada from the controller (the indicator light works) but it dosn't work either. All the other controller ports work fine.
I can't tell why the memory card is affecting the controller data line.

just fixed the problem. i shorted the data line for controller one with the sense connection and was putting 3.3v on the data line only when the memory card was connected.
