Hi emu_kidid and GC-Forever,

first and foremost congratulations and thanks for this great piece of software :)

Since noone seems to have build a forwarder channel for WiiPowers Swiss Booter yet, I decided to make one myself. It's powered by Narolez NForwarder 58 and based on the Riivolution channel and the Static Base wad. It has support for IOS58, FAT32, NTFS and AHBPROT.

Details

Application: Wii Swiss Booter
Forwarder.dol: NForwarder58
Channel title: Swiss Booter
Title-ID:SWBO
Size: 1.09 MB
Blocks: 9
Search paths:
SD:/apps/SwissBooter/boot.dol
USB:/apps/SwissBooter/boot.dol
Type: Static
16:9: No
USB 2.0: Yes
AHBPROT: Yes
IOS: 58
Splash screen: No
Modifications: Based on Riivolution channel and Static Base Wad. Changed IOS, banner, icons, added new music (the second alternate gamecube startup music), replaced brylt and brlan files, lz77 compressed, added AHBPROT support, no parentel controll password on startup
Tested by: Me (it works)
Credits: emu_kidid (Swiss), Narolez (NForwarder 58), WiiPower (Wii Swiss Booter), Riivolution-Team (Riivolution Channel), Leathl (CustomizeMii, ShowMiiWads, libWiisharp), Squidman, comex, megazig (Benzin), devkitPro-Team

Note: If the channel fails to load Swiss Booter (black screen or system reboot), try again. In case Swiss says the data on SDgecko is corrupted, just re-insert and re-mount the device.

 Download (Please do not rehost the file, thanks)

NForwarder 58 is licenced under GPLv3. You can download the source here.

Well, hope you like it. Enjoy :)

Forwarder channel?
Channel -> loads Wii Swiss Booter from sd card -> copies Swiss from sd card+its dol loader into memory -> MIOS -> dol loader inside the MIOS -> dol loader from WSB -> Swiss zipped .dol unzips -> Swiss

Fun

Nice work, thanks. That's useful for lazy people like me :D

Question: Is it possible to make a forwarder that directly launches swiss in GC mode without the need of Swiss Booter?

Yes the idea behind the channel is to provide people quick access to the Swiss application from the system menu.
As far as your question concerns, I believe this is possible somehow, but I'm not capable of doing that, sorry.

Take the source of the Swiss Booter, add the swiss.dol as resource to it, comment the storage code and compile. It would still use the Swiss Booter, but wouldn't need access to any storage, which is what i guess you want.

Just jumped in looking for a way to boot GC from SD...
So I'm guessing here this is only the forwarder itself, not the actual Swiss app?
Gonna try it out tonight, thanks for sharing.

Sorry for the bump here, but I got a question about this.
I installed the forwarder channel, as well as the actual app on the Front SD card.
-When I boot from the HBC, Swiss works. (it looks in SD:/apps/swiss/swiss.dol)
-When I boot the Channel Forwarder, I get taken back to the Wii main screen.
Am I right that the forwarder ONLY looks for Swiss on the SD Gecko/Wiikey SD card? I haven't put Swiss on that SD card...
If so, is there any way to change the Channel Forwarder to boot Swiss from the Front SD card? I actually thought that it would ONLY work like this....

EDIT:
Oh wait... this?
-Ark- wrote: Search paths:
SD:/apps/SwissBooter/boot.dol
Must've missed that. But why is it different from the actual Swiss HBC path?
This is what's addressed a few posts above, I take...
Quite weird if I'd need to have two seperate structure paths with exactly the same folder contents?
