Where to buy a ViperGC EXtreme modchip??

I can't find any place where I can buy a Viper GC Extreme for my new Cube...

I know it's hard to find one these days but let me know if you know a shop

I just ordered one at Konsola.net. It's a shop from poland with low prices.

I just guess it's the EXTREME because normal Viper GC has parallelport (a.k.a. LPT Port) and Viper GC extreme has USB. Shipping costs to Germany (where I live) is quite good. 15PLN + 69PLN for the modchip = 84PLN
In euro it's about 21,50€ - quite cheap!

Sorry to hijack this topic but I have a Extreme chip but I never played about with flashing the plugins. How do I go about doing it?

you can use the supplied .exe. Should come in the Cobra 2.0 or 2.1 pack.

Looks like the site has an English option at the top. When you click on that, there's nothing in the Gamecube section for some reason.

exactly. the english button links to a different site. i got me a colleague who is able to read polish and ordered

you can use the supplied .exe. Should come in the Cobra 2.0 or 2.1 pack.

Usage:
X:\cobra21\Plugins\> CobraPlugin.exe source.dol destination.cbp "Name (16 chars max)"

The destination.cbp will be compressed like with dollz, but be careful, it should not be bigger then 45056 bytes!

You can add it then to the cobra flash file with:

X:\cobra21\Plugins\> copy /b cobra21.vgc+destination.cbp output.vgc

Then you can flash it to the viper chip.

Thanks! Unfortunately, I ran into ANOTHER problem. I have no Windows XP PC in the house so connecting the Viper Extreme to my Windows 7 results in it not being recognised. Google hasn't helped as all the instructions are for XP.

if you have windows 7 ultimate or vista ultimate then you can use the xp mode to install a xp version on your pc. there you can install the viper gc modchip and flash it.

and if that doesnt work: install windows xp into a virtual machine.

but: the shop does not sell any viper extreme. all sold out.

I have a Viper Extreme and was wondering if anyone else had this problem? The USB adapter goes into the serial port on the bottom of the cube. When I try to flash a program, it goes and then it says it's not responding. It seems that the USB adapter doesn't have a tight fit in the slot. So I found that I can get it to work reliably by pushing on the card at a slight angle to help make better contact.

Has anyone else had this issue? Someone else suggested to me to put some solder on the card contacts to make it a little thicker.

if you're not using those rubber pads under the usb adapter, the adapter won't be pushed properly into the slot. Or, put some solder, but very lightly.

How funny I found that website today too. But normal ViperGC is not mighty as the extreme. More space for homebrew tools = more fun.
