This is so easy that I suspect I have already found out. But let's go:
The American version of this game is GSOE8P. The Japanese version should be GSOJ8P. Locate the ID with HEX and switch to the desired version.
There are other methods involving the memory area or the save state in Dolphin. But I never tried to do that.
