CleanRip v1.0.4 Gamecube Edition
CleanRip v1.0.4 has been ported to work on the Gamecube
Whatsnew in 1.0.4 Gamecube Edition:
* Removed HTTP stuff since it no longer works from redump.org anyway
* Added Slot A / Slot B SDGecko support
Note:
Redump.org gc.dat support is still included if you drop the file as gc.dat
on the root of the device you're dumping to. You must of course still be
a member on their site to be able to get the file/etc.

my first test run ended up with a fragmented iso on my sd card. an hour before i copied one on there, played it and formatted the card after use and used it for cleanrip.
might just be my sd card though....

Yeah I found larger cluster sizes helped (I used 64kb). Dumped 5 games in a row on an 8GB Card without issues after that.

Just thought I'd report that as of right now it appears to run smoothly. Program booted just fine via PSOload.
I haven't taken time to figure out anything with devkitpro yet though. Would you mind running Swiss through the alternate compiling method that you suggested earlier?

This'll come in handy instead of having to hook up my GC to the network. I've been using SoftDev's tool for all my dumps since forever, and I don't have my GC in a ready position to dump comes via the BBA that often anymore. I'll test this out later tonight!

Rip of Smash Bros Melee went perfectly, and was able to run it on a computer through Dolphin right away!

Backed up my copy of Pac-Man World 2 just fine. Shrank the ISO and tried it in Dolphin, and it worked!
However, I encountered a problem when I tried to rip another disc. I finished ripping Pac-Man, hit "A" to continue, CleanRip asked me to select which slot, SD Gecko was in slot-a, and then I got a code dump screen. Should SD Gecko always be reinserted before ripping each time? I didn't have time to try it again after it happened.

Hm, I didn't try re-inserting SDGecko/SD card after dumps. When I ripped 5 in a row I used an empty 8GB card so I didn't remove it at all and it was ok. I'll look into removing card/etc. Did you remove the SD Card or the entire SDGecko?

I didn't remove it, I just guessed that may have been a requirement to reinitialize it. It may have been just a screw up for that single instance. I'll give it a go later today to see if it does happen again.
I'm using a 4GB SDHC card with a normal SD-Gecko.
EDIT: Yeah. Happened again. All I did was rip a disc, get to the select slot screen, exchange discs, closed the lid, hit A to get to the SD Gecko selection (or whatever comes after the slot selection), and got a codedump.

How does one shrink an ISO?
And would shrinking it get rid of the alert message that says its fragmented when I try to book it through swiss?

fragmentation occurs when you copy/delete/move stuff on and from any media likes sd cards, hard drives etc. so the shrinking will only affect it in a way that it might not occur as fast because the files are smaller

Liquitt is right, but if you want to shrink the files as well, use gcm-tool.

I was just wondering how the .dat file works...
Would I need to find a .dat file for each game or are all games listed in one handy file?...
looking on the redump website I have found an archive "redump.org datfiles, cuesheets & gdis as of 2012-03-12.zip" and without the need to signup, within the archive is this file:
Nintendo - GameCube (20120304 17-10-09).dat
Is this an "all in one" .dat you are supposed to use?
you mentioned a "gc.dat" so I am wondering if I have found the wrong file?
or does it maybe need to be renamed to gc.dat?
I haven't yet tried to use this, I am just enquiring.

that's indeed the .dat file you need. rename it and place it as gc.dat to the root of your device that you're dumping to.

when I dump without gc.dat i get 100%rip but when It uses the gc.dat on root of SDHC in gecko the rip freezes at 99% but the iso seems to have completed fine.... Also any chance to see ISO dumping to Usb via the Wode in the future? even if its to the ntfs/fat insted of wbfs (which I'm guessing is more complicated to rip into)
