Had 2 SD media launchers and each stopped working within a few usages, the first died after a few go's and the 2nd I only used about 5 times but gaps of months of a time
Both had the same issue, the software refused to recognise the SD card(GC bios recognised it though i.e said it couldnt be used) and Windows recognised card.
Just got a cheap SD Gekko from Amazon new just wondered if they were made better.
Are the SD Gekko less flimsy than the sd media launcher?
Re: Are the SD Gekko less flimsy than the sd media launcher?
yes, any cheap china ripoff I've tried seems to be way better than the SD Media Launcher SD card adapter. The ones I've tried (brand new) have never even worked..

Re: Are the SD Gekko less flimsy than the sd media launcher?
My WiiSD seems well built but gives me problems sometimes reading sd cards. The SD Gekko is larger and seems to be thinner plastic but works every time and never gives me any problems.

Sometimes less is more

Re: Are the SD Gekko less flimsy than the sd media launcher?
I've never had any problems with my SD Media Launcher or my 1-euro SD Gecko, but I will say that the Gecko has a reassuring spring-loaded click action when an SD card is inserted, unlike the Datel device which always feels like the SD card is being inserted incorrectly.
