The BBA is good if you need it instead of:
SDGecko
USBGecko
Modchip

To me, the BBA was very useful but only once it was used with say, my Qoob PRO which I could stream DOL files to it, or to rip games. My BBA (whilst I still own it), has been replaced by the USBGecko for DOL Loading, and the SDGecko to rip games to. It still comes in handy for some 8 player Mario Kart DD at home though (2GC+2BBAs required) ;)

Of course if you want to play PSO Online (on a hacked server), or run the old disc streamers, or even have samba support in your emulators, it's really quite useful :)

I found one at Gamestop for $0.99 . If you can find it for this price go for it.

If you ask your local game stop they can have one shipped in from another store for free i did that and got it for $1.07 after tax. It was shipped from louisiana all the way to Chicago took about a week to get in. Unfortunately while it works the Viper GC Extreme locks up when i try to load up SDLoad i have stored in the flash with it connected instead of the USB Adapter.

I think I tried asking that when I was looking for GC Component cables and I was told they don't do store shipping but I'll ask again. After all a $1 spent on a BBA is a steal.

Thanks for the tip...

it could depend on the gamestop and people working there, I have 2 with in 3 miles of each other and the one I absolutely refuse to go to any more cause the workers there are asses. they basically only cater to there friends and give priority service to those they know, I've waited for 10 min to get service once and right as i was about to be get help they gave priority to a person that just walked in cause they were friends or knew them some how. the other one witch is a little further I've had nothing but good service with and had no issue searching other stores and calling to see if the item is available and having it shipped to the store for pick-up.

I got a BBA from eBay for about $25. It's been indispensable for debugging homebrew programs with.
